It really, REALLY, irks me when people confuse gmt for bst.

Its been quite a few occasions for me now that one time has been posted in gmt format for certain activities, but in the posters own heads they meant a different time. The reason seems to be that people in general knows fuck all about what gmt is and what summertime is. If you write 19.00 gmt then fucking make sure it's 19.00 gmt and not 19.00 gmt+1!!!!

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

I think we should have the same time everywhere in the world. That way these problems would never happen in the first place.

Convert everything to GMT.  Problem solved.

Find out what your timezone hour offset is in GMT time, then you can easily just use it.

Im GMT+12.  Easy for me.  (Cept daylight savings fucks it all up)

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Certainly Sandford Fleming didn't think of that.

i agree gmt needs some buffs, but with the current meta its much easier to use other time doctrines, i use est. the fact that daylight savings time is so op is what really hurts us.

Uhm.  daylight savings is what screws up OTHER timezones and converting between the two.

I think.

It can be argued it didn't even make any sense to have it when it was introduced, but nowadays there's absolutely no reason what so ever to keep it!

Yeah, everyone using GMT +/- sure would be nice (Waits for someone to argue PST/EST is a better standard)

Daylight saving is not used for agriculture anymore (was it ever?). The main reason it was recently adjusted (3 years?) was for energy conservation.

Taking into consideration the majority of the population's work schedules and energy use, the time was adjusted. Simply put, the longer it is light out after work, the less lights you turn on when you get home.
