I dont think you realise what elite armor can do for grens ick, they can survive tank shots already.

I waved ammo costs because they are irrelivant for the sake of the argument 3xmp44 110mu vs 2xmp44/4xmp44 60-120mu

i am fully aware what Elite Armor does. ALL other t4s are competetive to it (the grenade modifiers of mid t4 are very questionable).

Ammo cost for STG44 do matter!!! They are close Combat units. Elite Armor on Units with LONG RANGE Weapons is very POWERFUL, thats why GRENS with it are so strong.

Anyway 280 Manpower for a unit with long Range weapons with Elite Amor is just far too strong  
Just few ideas what they could get instead:

1. On enemy Territory based DPS buff, sth like 10% more Accuracy
2. Moving accuracy of 1. They could charge without receiving combat penalties - very good to overhwelm an enemy Position
3. Standard Gren Stats, but with 1 smoke nade (NOT MORE)
4. Cloak with a higher detection range (YES its codeable) but i think that doesnt suit Blitzkrieg, it fits more to an infiltration doc

Ick is right. Long range inf with elite armor is no good. How about AB armor for 2x and 4x MP44s instead of cloak?

what i personally fear is that this could lead to the same as with the PE  assault Grens. A Close Combat unit, that can just straight overrun allied units.

Ass grens have AB armor and sprint at vet 1, they are effective assault units. But they can hardly "overrun" allied units, considering they are 4 man squads, they have neglible supression resistance and outside of smoke are no different to any other inf unit.

if i recall correctly - i might remember wrong - then Assault grens could straight charge a BAR Sqaud and win close. That is what i fear that axis get another unit, that let them do "no brain" charges and be to a certain extend successful

As someone who likes to use assault grens to troll allied infantry, I have to say I'm with ick on that one... Underpriced as hell, total "lolno" to any non-smg inf, gotta love em.

Another Problem i have: Mid t4 Grenade recharge and + 1 Bundle nade on Storms

almost instant recharge on bundle nades.....

That used to be a problem when they could cloak for free, now that they don't it's sort of fine given it's a T4.
