Almost everyone who is so offended by the athletes taking a knee aren't offended that they're "disrespecting the flag" or some shit, they're offended that people of color should be treated equally. If you are so dense as to actually be offended by all the faux-patriotism nonsense, you're too fucking dense to have opinions on the things they're protesting anyway and should kill yourself.

To be frankly honest, the people who complain about it tend to be hypocrites. Look at Trump, he says kneeling during the national anthem "disrespects the men and women who died for the country" which is coming from the man who:
        -Dodged the draft 3 times during Vietnam
        -Called John McCain, the senator from Arizona who was imprisoned for 5 years in the notorious Hanoi Hilton POW camp during Vietnam and refused to be freed unless his comrades were set free too, a loser
        -Publicly attacked the family of a Army lieutenant who died in Afghanistan who saved members of his platoon from a suicide bomber

Honestly, it's about nationalistic idiots who have the IQ of a watermelon and  how they don't understand why the athletes are protesting.
