Alien Swarm. One of the best mods ever.

You just mentioning it got me to buy UT2004 again tomorrow. Although official support stopped for asv1, the mod's community is still active. Check the Alien Swarm trailer under downloads:

There's a huge difference between re-modding a mod like AS, and modding EiR, when we can't access the website, so modding it is worthless due to the launcher overriding anything we do, nor can we change things server side to go with the editing we did.

We could easily keep the mod alive better with at least some access to sourcecode for balance patches and whatnot.
People are bound to get bored of the same version eventually :/.

We can't even organise a proper tournament ffs.

Exactly, if I had access to the source code, I'd be releasing patches and new shit.

What Akra has said is true, if we had admin rights to the website to make small changes then we could keep balance going.  With access to the source we could keep making small balance changes as well.

Ive mentioned Phil and FL that I am more than willing to continue to do the website changes (to the Database mostly, unit costs, etc...) so that we can continue to make this excellent mod better.  Then when the Devs come back to finish what they started, the mod would be in a better state than they left it.
