If I would be in the military, I wouldn't fucking mind living in those conditions at all. I'm sure there's other stuff to worry about.
Like I said, I'll even live in this conditions for a longer duration when travelling & visiting foreign countries if it means I have to spend less cash.

The author of that video is obviously used to too much luxury.
Billions of people don't even have those living conditions, don't fucking complain.

So you would not mind mold which can cause you to get sick, sewer waste backing up into your living quarters and exposed electrical wires?

Hell, I'd rather sleep outside, atleast there all I have to worry about are cars and bears, and if a bear attacks you, you just need to be faster then the other person.

Don't get me wrong, yes it could have some easy fixes but that video is completely dramatising the situation. Also, mold will not get you sick, at most it'll cause some irritation in enclosed spaces.

And yes, they should switch back to the military being self sufficient.

What don't you people get! they may have signed up for the army but there still human and deserve to have a healthy place provided by the state. This is Criminal Negligence and against most US heath standards.

IF YOU THINK SOLDERS WHO GO OUT AND PUT THERE LIVES ON THE LINE DISERVE THIS then well there's no talking to you ignorant pigs. you already have made up your mind that we shouldn't give our citizens proper treatment cus there in the army. its not like this is wide spread is an isolated thing, most modern bariks provide a construable living space witch is required in such a demanding occupation.

i am done hear since i see no point in trying to force sense into your thick skulls.

I get tired of how people always think of soldiering as a public service, you get free housing (although it sometimes sucks), free food and are taken care of, and you get paid.

You are working, you chose a job field to enter. It is a JOB. I fail to see how it's a great service to anyone in this country to go fight useless wars to make the rich richer. The mold is nothing new to anyone that has ever lived in a humid area, you have to keep surfaces dry and clean, plumbing backs up no matter where you are, metal rusts wherever you are (especially where it is humid), and oh no, a toilet seat that one of these guys, or the previous military personnel inhabiting the barracks broke. No normal activity bends a toilet seat UP.

So what I see, is some wear and tear, and some irresponsible behavior on the part of prior or current inhabitants. Yes its a shitty looking dive, but billions of people live in conditions that are much worse.

Talking with my friend in the marines and to hear what he thought of the barracks in Fort Bragg.

First off, these conditions are pretty much only in Fort Bragg. And this is what he thinks about it.

those barracks are outside of health codes. its more sanitary living in a tent than those barracks. sanitation is taken pretty hard in the marines. its probably the same for the army, we fail room inspections if we have dust behind our desks, and they do check. when we clean our rooms we have to pull our furniture out. clean,
then put everything back in and clean the furniture as well. one kid just got dropped from lance corporal to private because he had a spot of black mold in his shower.

While the fort bragg barracks have mold all over the place.

Im pretty much LOLing at this entire thread, its over dramatic, the video is lame and only points out the bad spots.  Being in the military myself, I have lived in similar conditions in the dorms at one of my training schools in Biloxi, Mississippi and its nothing new.

Do have to say that there is one certain kind of mold that can kill you once it gets in your system, but that mold is not it.

So yea...LMAO, this thread is pointless, half of you think you know what military life is like, but will never really know because you think your better than those of us in it and look down on us; and the other half of you are going way overboard with the "holy shit thats horrible, that has to change, thats inhumane nonsense...shit happens.  People all over the world live in much worse conditions and you dont see people doing jack shit about them.

I believe this nation(America) needs to get off its ass and spin those several hundred million dollars in tax money and give it to the homeless, feed the starving, help the disabled. They need to take that money and help people who need it, instead of having trillions spent to kill. When you can spend thousands to save. Send some relief to countries that need it, don't you think Iraq's army can do its own by now. 7yrs over there training them, they should have a suffient force to protect themselves. Lets use our money for food, homes,&lives in Africa&Asia. Places that need our help, and several Americans laugh at the homeless, poor, starving.

Neverjudge a man on how he treats his superiors or his equals;you judge a man on how he treats people who have it worse than him."
