Supply points.  They are used for purchasing veterancy for your units(once they earn it) and supposedly for buying offmaps(although I haven't had experience with this, so I'm not sure).

You need more XP. Kill more units and you can vet them further.

They gain XP in game but you still have to pay SP to train them to the next vet level once they are at the right XP level.

Right so i have to get them to gain xp till the correct xp level then i get to spend sp's to vet them up even further without the need to vet them up ingame?

or

They get xp to the level of vet 3, and on top of that i have to pay sp points to vet them up aswell?

1) Get them to the required XP level, the launcher will tell you what that is. Highlight their icon and hover over the vet button.

2) Spend the SP to vet them up.

Your units will stop short of the next vet level regardless of how much they kill. For instance, if you need 50xp for vet 2, they will stop at 49 until you spend the SP.

I don't understand what you mean. A vet 3 Pershing has obviously done lots of killing.
