The is an error in the British Rank insignia in CoH (which has passed over to EIR through no fault of the Devs).

I'm offering 30PP to the first person to spot Relic's mistake...

EDIT: brn4meplz had the correct answer, the offer is now closed.

I'm not giving away hints, you find an image of the British rank insignia in Relic and tell me what's wrong with them (only some of them mind)...

The only thing i can think of is that junior officer ranks are not done properly. They are supposed to be in a vertical line(top to bottom) not a triangle type pattern

The Captain should be a vertical line rather than a triangle.

The Colonel has the same issue.

There also should be a brown background to the rankings due to the shoulder piece in question, but i'm not sure if that counts.

The commando jeeps have lil' U.S. rank thingies instead of British ones!  Not sure if that's right, but hey, worth a shot!

I do know that in the new Skinpack Captain has Sergeant rank instead of Captain rank. As well Ltd had some weird rank I don't remember what but it was one.

In VCoH I know that Firefly has a French flag tags in its side. I'm not 100% sure was it intented.

No-one has it yet. Nice try with the captain's pips though, granted they are usually vertical, (some regiments even have/had them horizontal), but they are correct in both number and type of insignia.

In vCoH I know that Firefly has a French flag tags in its side. I'm not 100% sure was it intended.

Actually, those are unit indicators, and as far as I can tell they are two red stripes and one white, denoting a particular regiment/company/squadron on the field for quick identification. In a similar manner infantrymen have a coloured patch on their left shoulder with a set of coloured stripes that denotes their unit to others on the same field.

Is it strictly the Relic onlines ranks or is it something in game graphics?

It's strictly Relic online ranks, and thus the same graphics for ranks in the EIR launcher...

the lion isn't wearing a crown.

or is it that they are using the wrong LT rank? They're using the US LT icon and not the British?

The gold marks below the crown with the colonel insignia should be a straight line down?
Nvm, that has been said a thousand times, my bad.

Wait got it, there's nothing wrong with them Tongue

Sorry folks, brn4meplz has got it.

They are indeed using a Queen's crown for all the rank insignia, despite the fact that at the time of the war, a Queen hadn't ruled Britain for 38 years. In fact, when the current monarch dies and is replaced by a male heir, the uniform insignia of all services (armed forces, police, etc) will revert back to using a king's crown.

Incidentally, how could the captain's diamond thing affect the launcher graphics? Just curious to the several people who suggested it.

Can a Dev please transfer 30PPs from my Osprey2 account to brn4meplz's account?

If I wasn't drinking earlier i could do the transfer myself but i don't want to mess the files up by mistake. My AB company could really use the PP's(brn4me)

Scroll down the Wiki page and have a look at the crowns on the WWI insignia (GR V). The ones at the top of the page are current (ER II), the WWII ones were the same as in WWI, minus the box and bars as the insignia were no longer displayed on the sleeve of field and dress uniform (Oddly enough, it was those stripes that the RFC, later the RAF took their insignia from, dropping the pips and crowns).
