There is a reason that WoW is the laughing stock of the online community outside of it.
It's terrible, it rewards mediocrity, it has no penalty to being terrible, it eats people's lives, it's infested with squeakers who are still babbling on about whatever internet fad hit 2-3 years ago.
People take it waay to seriously for a game that basically amounts to "get items so that I can do this raid to get these other items, so I can do this raid to get said new items they just released making my previous sets useless", oh, and the game stays the same from 60 onwards, there is no change, it requires no skills, etc.
Arena combat is about the only part that requires thinking.

plus, your asking the wrong ppl. I dont play too much else outside of company of heroes. never could get into the grind that MMOs are.

I would agree with groundfire the most - I can't really play an MMO for too long as I just get bored of the grinding. I like the PvP, but the PvE is usualy boring, and.. a grind.
EiR, even when being an MMO, is always a different game, each time - it involves thinking as much as skill, not the mashing of 4 buttons in a specific order - and there's few things on the webz as rewarding as crushing a human controlled axis doomfort with 2 churchils and a load of allied infantry in support.

Quoted for truth. To be fucking honest, Im sick of all the MMO's that have no penalties in game. They baby the players and SUCK the fun out. I understand that games like the ORIGINAL EQ back in the day was a masochists wet dream - it felt like you ACHIEVED something, and it was DIFFICULT. Wow is... a spam / twitch fest. It makes my inner child cry. |
