Volks & fausts I heard.
More like unupgraded volks, haven't seen them use fausts. He only had grens with lmg, volks, some pios, P4s and several stormies with schrecks(one with stg).
His friend had lots of luftwaffe infantry, some marders, some ACs, one or two ATHTs and several falls with FG42 and Fausts, and a Panther.

wasnt a big blob really (4-5 fallschirmjäger..)
seems that you never played against airbornes and infantry company in old EiR
there were many people using 4-5 squad raidborne each to drop when attacking and completely trashed any defense

The other night in EiR I saw seven airborne squads blobbed together from two players.
It was kind of ridiculous.
Then they got suppressed and I dropped a firestorm on them :p

Lots of Luftwaffle infantry you say!? Mass Volksgrenadiers?! Sounds super epic!
Edit: Watching now, pretty interesting match, those Volks and Luft are being suprisingly effective! Bank is being a total idiot to his mate though.
Edit 2: Finished! The Axis messed up that big blob SO BAD at the end, sitting on the road in negative cover. I think they might have pulled it off if that flamethrower dude got whacked, and I really wish they did. Bank was suchhhhhh a baby in that game, I commend his teammate for keeping his cool throughout.

These players are a nuisance to play against.
If you play against them make sure you know what you're up against and reassign your battalion accordingly (spam)
One time we played a 3v3 against them and one of their players had a Panther and four Marders on the field at once.
16 + 6*4 = 40 pop worth of AT.
The only thing that made me happy about the game was that I ran over 20+ of his men with my Cromwell. Liarde and company are nothing more than spammers and noobs who put their blobs in red cover and still manage to win games.

Thats nothing, I remember playing him on semois. It was nothing but just 1 big AB blob that he spammed mortar smoke around + alot of strafes. Skill = 0.
Any noob can get good 1v1 stats in vCoH these days.

So many armchair generals these days. If a guy wants to spam and it wins him matches, then let him. Everyone always wants to micro someone elses troops. If we all played the same then this game would be hella boring.
btw the Leirde i remember puma spammed

If I recall correctly...
1.4 had Super-Crocs and Plasma Smoke. 1.5 had Golraeder's fast M8 strat. 1.6-1.7 had Aniketos' unbeatable Piospam.
For vEIR, I think Stumpster had some sort of M8 spam in conjunction with Vehicle Technology. I think Grenspam used to be popular during the early incarnations of vEIR. And, of course, Rangerspam (before and after the OF Elite Armor) was present...and way, way back, Stormtrooper hit/retreat spam.

Things like the StuH used to be OP because it did things like "come with stormtroopers for free" and "shoot a StuG shot with a 105mm explosion". Tiger came with free storms, too.
The old days before OF were all about dual tiger vs dual pershing fights, sometimes with a fast calli sherman thrown in for good measure (used as a tank of course because calli barrage costed munitions and the main gun worked).
Then there was the fun stuff like inspired assault base schrek rape, inspired assault super sniper, plasma shield sherman, bike spam (I think Heroic Company did that one...), pio spam, engineer spam (from beta, that one got fixed early), old school "semois pin" style wire play (due to no wire cutters by default), the Puma being OP, the M8 being OP, the StuG Spam being OP, "free" King Tiger came around as OF did, OP strafe around 2.3 or 2.301 after OF (or back in 1.7 I think, but I don't remember that far back too well), really the metagame goes hand in hand with "finding and exploiting the new OP strat of the day".
It's what good players do, is try to find the best way to win. If that way to win is believed to be too powerful (such as the bike spam, piospam, engineer spam, plasma shield, et c.) it should be nerfed in patches.
