With the amount of changes being done to doctrine abilitys wouldnt it be logical that we should be able to deselect doctrine abilitys once we bought them to try some other stuff?
(without PP refund of course)

I agree it would be a very intelligent and honorable decision, it would be wise thoughtful and understanding, the wisest of kings would be nothing compared to this descision.  Smiley Smiley Wink Wink Cheesy Cheesy Grin Cool

I don't see why you even need to not receive your PPs back, we are all testing stuff here, it would allow more people to voice concerns about balance issues and certain abilities being useless if you could reset like you wanted to..

Like the 25 PP I paid for intensity, worst buy ever. It was like the feeling of ordering a stripper for your bachelor party, and then receving a camel wearing a bra.

Because giving the PPs back would result in a mini game where the good players would rearrange their doctrine choices before each game. It will also allow you to unlock the King Tiger and select another T3 instead afterwards (It can still be done if you don’t get the PPs back but it will cost you 2x75 each time you do that).

Like the 25 PP I paid for intensity, worst buy ever.
It doesn’t come close the 75 PPs I paid for repair specialization only to have it turned into a TBA 10 min later. That was 3 weeks ago and I still can’t get another T3….

The unit unlocks in doctrines should be handled like in old EiR, you can deselect and keep it, but if you lose the unit you will have to pay the PP again to get it back.

IT would be a very, very expensive way to keep a deselected unit in the company. That would be like 160 PP to rebuy a KT if it dies...

well it isn't all easy to do though, it would have to CHECK and see if there was any units assigned to that slot and erase them as well.  if you were to deselect the unit in doctrines but have them in your company still, it wouldn't let you enter your battalion page ever again...

Well for now it could be enabled but give out a BIG ASS warning to everyone to not deselect unit unlocks.

People seem to have trouble with accidentally deleting their companies as it is, I don't think having any more (and even more dangerous) big red buttons is a good idea.

won't happen, there is all together too much coding and crap to do with making it a simple deselect.

in old eir there was an abusive mechanic in that you would buy your cheaper units, deselect the purchase doctrine ability, and then reselect a buff ability.

here it would be more along the lines of buying unlocked units, swapping to a buff for those units.

except the fact that if you have a unit in your launcher you can't actually purchase, you can NOT enter the battalion page.

hence the reason we haven't changed reinforcements yet.  In order to change them I would have to delete every instance of that unit out of the game to make sure some poor guy didn't have them in his company and make his company not able to be edited.

once doctrines are finalized we will reset the choices.  After that, its a pick and your stuck with it choice, probably forever unless eirrmod wants to go about the monstrosity of making code that checks through your company and deletes units when deselecting doctrine choices.
