self destruct should only be available on tanks with crits. IE damaged engine, no main gun to prevent abuse.
and add a 30 second delay and then your tank explodes with a demo charge explosion but no damage to prevent it from being a kamikazebot

It is a fact of life in the game, you can get infantry off the field easier than vehicles. Friendly fire it or put it on a road. Crews reteating would just gay the game up. More vehicle vet. You could be a total jackass with your tank getting it surrounded with no line of escape and then hit the button and presto Sup3rFasteXcape. Even if it had a timer/delay.
Micro your shit. I know i have passed a target by before to keep their pop eaten up. I think its called strategy or some shit.
The self destruct on tanks used to have a timer on it aswell, and your vet goes where it should, the garbage can.

I don't want no tank crews escaping from fucked tanks! For one its retarded and would take ages too code and second it would mean there was a large abundance of veteran tanks on the field, which is fucking nasty.

i dont like the idea
your prob if u cant manage to keep them alive or if ur too aggressive
or just use your own weapons to destroy
its not needed imo

If some kind of tank crew retreat could be made without bugginess with a very weak tank crew to abandon and scuttle immobilized vehicles in the field I'm for it.l

I would love the ability to make the crew jump out and retreat. It would make it much more fair with keeping vet, I have faced brittish who have every singel inf unit vet 3, but never one who has vet 3 on every tank. I wonder why
And it doesn't need to take 20 sek to get out, a couple of sek is enough. That's how long it takes for weapon teams to leave their weapon and start running. And if you want to kill the vet so much, get after the running guys just like you would against normal inf. And to make up for inf who is retreating with low health most of the time, give the tank crew low health. It just make sense that guys who sit in their tank all day is weaker and easier to kill then normal inf
And all the tanks who will be left out in the open will just make the atmosphere better, It's rather boring that all the tanks are completely destroyed, it should be some half damaged tanks lying around

exactly what i said, would look awesome.
and be able to keep tanks vet longer, of course 20 sec gfto timer though.
i cant see anything wrong with this. just seems awesome in all aspects.

Ya, 20 secs seems pretty fair, crew could move as slow as atg-crews (you dont see many of them, right!) and if u f00k up with your tank it's lost. In those situations that tanks are going down they are going to.
If we can try to put in like PaK-PE, we could try this. And btw, it maybe grants allied armor some more vet to compete vs. high vet supertanks
