Upgunned AT halftracks are too good to not use them. 3 pop, pak stats, cheap, fire on the move.
It is the best anti tank option in game probably. Should it stay that way?

Narf i also wanted to make a new thread about this unit, but since you already did here you go:
Heyo.
I wanna make this discussion thread about the new Panzer Elite Upgunned Anti-Tank Halftrack.
Im well aware that this unit is still under development, although i think evaluating its stats this unit and assessing its role within eir might give the developers a idea on where to go with their changes.
Stats of the new Upgunned ATHT:
This is the unit:

It cant purchase/use the Treadbreaker and Focus Fire Ability and has 50 more health.
What are your thoughts about this unit, weapon+platform composition?
My Opinion: i dont see a place where this unit fits in, or can be somehow brought inline with.
Right now this unit eliminates all the drawbacks of a AT-Gun which are: slow move, slow turn, has to be stationary.
If you look at the Marder Tank Hunter, 57mm/6pder and the pak, the stats and attributes do fit and they all seem to be in a good cost/stat proportion.
But the UpgunnedATHT is like a mobile Bofors/17pd crossover and outperforms everything else for a considerably low price right now.
And in my opinion there wanst really a need for this unit in the first place.
PE needs some handheld suppression tool (HMG) to eliminate its weakness to Handheld AT blobs.

I also agree..I don't really think it has a place in EIR, if you say its on a weak platform think about it.. so is a regular ATG

it has powerful gun, superior range, fire on the move and shoots rapidly
not only that it is also cheap, fast, and spammable
u can kite any allied tanks if u have sight
the only downside is poor armor and hp
no reason to use regular atht
it is superior in every way (even marder!)

* ATHT upgun tweaks: Gun will not fire unless locked down.
(Edited version of Marder lockdown(minus the reload and penetration buff)
* ATHT upgun population to 4 (from 3)
* ATHT upgun tracking modified to be between pak and ATHT, resembles the Marder cone of fire.
** ATHT upgun is effected by Telescopic sights the same as the Marder is.
* ATHT upgun availability changed to 2/2/3
they are already done, just trying to get a few doctrines in before its patched.
Its not a nerf when its a newly created unit that needs tweaking. Beware the wrath ...

we made the unit with the benifit of the HT (movability/rotation) and the benifit of the ATgun (range/fire/cone) and the negative of the HT (pathing/life expectency) but not the negative of the AT gun... or the merger cone of the two.
this has been fixed.

No, it has to be locked down to fire, marder can fire without being locked.
And i think the lockdown will have a minor cd to it.

Its a AT gun that can move super fast, and rotate in spot when shooting and not cost ammo.
its not a marder in any sense. its an alternative the faction was missing.

and it is because this ^^^ is true that the change was made. it is a fix that should have been there at the start.

Stop derailing threads aloha please, you were already banned once.
The unit has really a huge impact in the gameplay, i much preferred the old game with less new units, but changes are always welcome. It's a new whole dimension for pe player who now have a pak on wheels, this brings out new counters and new tactics, if it's op it needs to be fixed asap.

The question now becomes, why use an atg thats 2 shotted by every other ATG that cannot move when its being shot at.
The Marder costs slightly more, can move, fire, move without locking down, does 150 damage compared to 115, and gets buffs when locked down.

Reckon you should be able to shoot without being locked down, just not as fast, maybe even 1/4 the rate of fire. Otherwise its going to die too easily.

I actually agree with AmPM, do the other changes to it's arc etc, it already doesn't have good accuracy on the move. Make those changes and perhaps make it more pricey before you basically change fundamentally how an ATHT works.
