I swear this Axis player brought six to eight Goliaths to this game and simply ran them into Vet3 squads and tanks. I don't what the Axis pay for Goliaths but with the Allied availability being reduced for things like Airborne and Airborne Riflemen this is seriously OP! Also watch the Vet3 German Officer take direct hits from piats, anti-tanks, infantry and machine guns and TAKE NO DAMAGE!! That is crap! The Axis player at one point just walks him right up to a machine gun and shoots the crew dead and then walks over to an anti-tank gun and shoot that crew dead. I expect that in mods like NHc but for all the fuss made over balancing allied Airborne and allied spam this is comical. http://www.filefront.com/14131167/EuropeInRuinsBattle.zipNot only is this OP but its an EXPLOIT. What the heck would axis players be saying if allied simply recrewed their howies over and over again. This has to be fixed...

Well I just watched the replay and I stand corrected, there were 9 Goliaths!!!!!
Generalbaka and Robberbaron simply kept bringing on two or three engineers at a time who would then create two or three Goliaths each. I also noticed that the Goliaths took up no pop cap! And could be concealed like paks.
As for the officer, if you watch he eventually gets injured by his own Panther!!! heck, toward the end of the game the Panther is advancing with the officer as its sole infantry support and nothing can stop him!!!

No its not an exploit to use the officer to fight, its an exploit to ONLY use the officer to fight. He isn't leading or supporting any units, he is a one man commando!

Unless the officer is well and truely bugged, I don't see why it'd be so hard to kill him...

I saw buffalo mortaring his own 30 cal! The traitors were working together with a axis mortar to kill it.
As for the game, it seemed nice and even. Was fun to watch a RTC 2v2, a game like this hasnt been posted in a while.
Btw I think hellcats can be put to better use than trying to shoot lmg grenadiers from afar!
And I'd love to fight against the guy with all the 4 man kch, that shit looks yummy.. (contact my americans for a game)

As a goliath spammer myself I must say that they can be useful, only when placed well. However as mentioned they represent a hard counter against AB and other blobs but only if you lead them into a trap.
It is very hard to use on the offence, unless things are unsupported e.g. at guns.
You must remember that a goliath has no Line of sight. Cost nearly as much as an LMG and a Nade for a gren squad.
Goliaths are good for vet hutting especiallly on bridges. Got somones vet three sherman......
Just keep your key your eye out for them and you will be fine.

Mhm one question: How about making demo charges placeable everywhere for a significant price increase, say 120-90mun?

i propose making them 90 munitions and virtually undetectable unless your enemy is on top of it, and can only be placed in cover.

Goliaths are practically like a mobile version of a demo charge that does more damage..

Thats why id say a price starting 90mun upwards would somehow be equivalent to goliaths.

Unless EiRR changed something goliaths cannot be detected unless crashed into with a vehicle, in which case, the goliath will try to escape but will easily be able to blow up the vehicle.

Goliaths are great, they add a whole 'nother layer of strategy to EIR. Im soo sorry you played someone who spent fully 1800 munitions on mobile supermines. Im guessing they didnt have too many shrecks. Goliaths are fail most of the time as they have little health and are slower than vehicles. they are more fun than brutally effective.
Just because someone uses something once or you have a bad day(ive had some brutally unlucky games this past week) doesnt mean changes are in order.
