Is there a reason why EIR seems to perform worse than vcoh? I play 4v4s all the time in vcoh and my computer has no trouble whatsoever, but in EIR sometimes i get major lag-outs in games (almost every 4v4; occasionally in 2v2). My computer gets great performance usually, but when it comes to 4v4s the shit hits the fan. I can't seem to play a 4v4 without crashing  Cry

My specs: Intel Core2 Quad 6600 @ 2.4 GHz. Nvidea Geforce 9800 GTX +. 4 GB RAM

Thanks

The only thing that it could be is all the scar code giving your CPU a hard time, but considering you run a quad core that would seem peculiar. It's almost like playing COH single player with 8 people, which is obviously much tougher than just running COH multiplayer.

Also does this occur on all 4vs4 maps?

i have basically the same computer (same graphics and RAM, 3.2 dual core processor) and i run fine.  It's usually background processes that screw me up a lot, and sometimes i think the zoommod + maxed graphics on DX9 really does take up a lot.

Yes, if you're running zoom mod consider removing it.

how do i disable it? You're probably right; zoom-mod seems to be the only thing different between eir and vcoh.

zoom mod???

The zoom mod allows you to see more of the battlefield than in vCoH by zooming out (scrollwheel).  It can also let you zoom in until you pretty much see 3 pixels.

This way a Firefly's range can actually fit on your screen, so you can micro higher ranged units (mostly tanks) better.

Find the CameraOption.sga (I think that's what it's called, something with Camera either way) in your Company of Heroes/EuropeinRuins/Archives folder and remove it.
