Map is set up to be wider than it is long to open up the use of flanks much more as it is basically the open desert.  An Oasis is basically centered in the map with a few buildings, some shallow & deep water.  Map is full of sand dunes and elevation changes.  Lots of open space.  Time is early evening.

Strategic points were set up in a large non uniform chunks typically centered around a tall sand dune, the oasis itself, etc.

Map is set for 4 players.

For some reason the map doesn't shot up in skirmish.  It says it exports it just fine but when I attempt to use it, won't appear and its in the proper directory so been having to play test it in -dev mode.  All the other maps like Road to Carentan are in there and work so I'm scratching my head on this one since it plays fine in -dev mode.

If you get the same issue I am getting, here is a rar of all the files, maybe someone else is able to export it to an sga and get it to work.

Yes it very nice and who here doesn't like the N. Africa campaign everyone loves Patton, Monty Vs. the Desert Fox but that not the point, I love desert map little natural cover, lots of space for movement Smiley

Oh noes! Don't tell me I have to create secret war plans for a N. African campaign too. I was almost finished with the West European one. Now I have to adjust for inter-campaign interactions as well.  Undecided Undecided Undecided

Lol, not trying to make anyone's life difficult and yeah, I do recognize that there is nothing in Europe really desert like but was figuring would be a nice change and with the expansion coming out, a possible zone of play.

Well It really matters on what time period the war is going to start in if its 1944, right after the Sicily invasion you wouldn't need to do a N. Africa campaign. And in that case you wont need maps like this but it would be nice.  Wink  Smiley

Add little tufts of grass and mud everywhere, and you could pass it off as a large field (in drought) in France?

This map should be easy to customize to fit the War Map. Frankly, judging from the screenshots, it could probably be added as part of France. Maybe a region close to Utah Beach...

With Sand dunes? The only place your going to find terrain anywhere near this in europe is Spain, And unless we are going to start the game with the spanish civil war i dont see a need for it. Yes i would love to see a desert campaign myself Fox vs Rats but alas i would also like to see the devs keep thier Hair and Sanity Tongue

Yeah, with sand dunes. I believe that part of France was like that, but I can't remember where...

I'm pretty sure it was close to Utah Beach.
