At the start of battle 58, I called in two gren squads with duel lmgs each. The only problem was the grens showed up without lmgs. I have no idea why, the game progressed fine, just wanted to let you know about it.

Which position where they in in your platoons?  Did you have the upgrade before the battle was created?

They were in 2nd assault, and yes they had the upgrade before the battle.

They don't have them when I reviewed the battle files, so it was something strange, like you never bought them, but thought you did (yes, players do this constantly) or the battle was created before you got them setup.
