Hey guys, just starting my first map, using one of the pictures from nevyen's suggestion thread. This is still very early days, but just posting my first little sections for any feedback, and to put it out there.

Suggestion picture :

Heightmap finished, started a section of the forest on the right :

Overall view of the map, no fog this time :

Close Combat Maps? Hmm

I've altered the layout slightly, moved the crossroads down to around about halfway up the map, to make it a more central fighting point. Some of the roads have changed, and I'm only guessing at the relief from an overhead picture.

yeah having roads that one sided makes it easier to whoever has a halftrack start to get to the chokepoint and lock it down.

yer maybe put a couple of craters in the road to make sure people can't just charge up the road.

Some more pics. The forest area is coming on fairly well, it's very thick in the middle, but in general, infantry can just walk right on through. Might need to be opened up some, for tanks and stuff to get through, i'll test it in a skirmish.
