I still don't have Windows 7 yet, so I couldn't say. I also don't design my skinpacks with the skin installer in mind (though apparently certain creative individuals believe otherwise, huh Groundfire Tongue) so if it's a problem, it also isn't a problem I have to deal with because my skinpacks are designed to function with EiR:R through built-in skinpack loading features that happened to already exist.

the skin installer is a program that modifies your retail ww2art.sga

for those of you who dont know, if you modify your retail skins, your EIRR units will have the same skin as units in retail.

It installs skins automatically into retail with no fuckups.

Of course I know how to make compile unit skins manually for both retail and EIR, but the retail sga file is MASSIVE and i prefer having a utility install a retail skin for me instead of unpacking a 600Mb sga file.

anywho, it doesnt seem to be compatible with windows 7, so i was asking to see if anyone else was having problems with the program.

Groundfire, I don't think it does as it might rely on some XP & Vista framework components

It's safer just using 'ExternalSkinpack.sga' for your EIR skinning needs.
Unless of course you want custom skins in vCOH (by replacing the art file), that's at your own risk eh.

Actually...

I personally used the automatic skin installer and it worked perfectly fine with the Historical skin mod on MODDB. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The only issue I encountered was caused because of STEAM running and for some reason throwing a fit, lol.

but something else: after i started EiR with the -mod europeinruins thingy, and tested my skins, there were some graphic bugs.
some text in the menu was fucked up, and ingame there were alot of things wrong too. this happpened after i started EiR manual in win7. i changed my sound files so axis speak german, and im using externalskinpack.sga. just wondering if this is becouse of europeinruins, i guess il try to reinstall coh...

anyone knows?

sounds like your art file is corrupted.
a clean install should do the trick.
