Can't re-setup during the game so it's stuck there until it dies. Checking if it retains vet now.
Also; on a side note does tank commander only increase sight on tanks? Or does it increase sight and range of their shot?

Now bear makes his own funny thread. It's unsurprisingly not funny.

Bofors is supposed to be static like the Flakvierling I think.

It doesn't increase actual range, but tanks can shoot further than what they can see, so it increases range because tanks can see further I guess.

Bofors used to be moveable, but it was changed (so it's intended, not a bug) that it was static, so never use them anymore. Are we asking how to improve it?

How is the vierling better than the bofors :
1. Much larger suppression.
2. Much more powerful gun(anti-inf wise).
3. Far more survivable - it is much, much smaller so a lot less "missed" shots hit it. It also happens to be impervious to small arms damage(the gun itself).
4. No 88 on the allied side to require protection from a vierling.
5. No doctrinal buffs help the bofors in any way. Veterancy does not work properly on the bofors(need to survive entire game with bofors for veterancy to stay). They can't end up with 61 range, like the vierling.

Wow, a bofors not able to set itself up anywhere else and stuck with, what, like 40 range? Sounds worthless.

It is worthless. Even when they were moveable it was a worthless emplacement.
In no way is it comparable to the flackverling.
It either needs a range and durability increase or it needs to become moveable again. It's a shame that we cant find a good use for units like this.
I personally think OMG has got a good emplacement system. have everything delivered by trucks like a howitzer, and the 17pnder man towed so it can be used outside of the emplacement. They can all relocate as necessary.
the availablity system we got makes them no more spammable as 88s and verlings are.

i dont understand the change anyway. I understood the 25 lbr, and the 17 pdr but no one was using the bofors as is.
Here's an idea, change the bofors to have it built without the emplacement around it,this will make it more survivable, and then if we want that extra health/armor, we can buy it for whatever, 50 munitions or something like that. Same with the vickers, you just have the man portable vickers and if we choose to deploy it into an emplacement, you can't move it but it has more protection, maybe the same with the 17, it can move around like the 6 pdr and then you can deploy in one spot as necessary.
For all 3, turning into an emplacement increases range by +10 but decreases sight by maybe -5, health by 100 (just an arbitrary number) but at the same time makes it more vulnerable to things like fire and tanks but less so to small arms.
another thing you can do with this is to give the ability to make it in an emplacement to the engineers, which opens up the vickers/bofors/17 pdr to all 3 factions but gives the engineers something special.l

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I think both the 17lbr and the bofors should come out of the emplacements. Make them man pushable like 57's and 6lbr's. Adjust the setup/packup time to a longer delay and decrease the turn rate on the 17lbr. At least then you could get it into most areas without it being incredibly retarded to deploy. The bofors is never used even if you liken it to a flak vierling. If it had identical stats i could see it being static but even still the Brits don't get an 88 to sit behind and a 25lbr won't save you from a determined effort.
EDIT for clarification sake, the Bofors would not be 360 traversable if it were in a towed form. and when i say a long setup on the 17 i mean like 3 seconds

It can be coded to hook these things up to trucks. I think battle of the buldge mod has something like that.
