Its intresting to see what people value in a battle, I guess in many ways its similar to the brain or muscle thread, but I would like to go a bit deeper Smiley

Personaly I would say info, dont matter what units u have, aslong as you know more than your opponent, then the battel is won.

IMO, coordination.  Its the ability of your teammates to react before you say I need help to come with everything they have(or at least can spare) if they see you're in trouble.  Even without info, if your teammates get there before the attacker's support to follow his push, you can shut it down, reset the line, and have a good shot at resuming the previous equilibrium, rather than having to essentially turn the game into an attack mode.  On the flip side, when you attack, its the ability of your teammates to either surgically remove that AT gun, that MG, or flank in from the side after you draw the fire in front and clear out the whole position.  Timing is essential.

communication is key but in some cases it can be kept to a minimum.

playing with people you are unfamiliar with, it's easy to not say much at all because you aren't sure how that person will react, what they'll say etc. that, of course, could make the match easily turn into 1v1 battles with no flanking or teamwork or a 1v2 situation where the players don't talk or type at all to let the other person know "help!!"

now playing with people you know quite well and play with everyday it's a little different. you know the set up of their company and know they are a good player so you don't have to open the tac map every 5 seconds to see where there stuff is and a fallback plan in case something doesn't work etc. only a few muttered words of "need at here *ping*" or "bring out a firefly" might be heard the whole match because each player knows what the other expects.

or you can just go the route of killer and a few others and don't use a mic because they are quite expensive.

Some people have already said it but I will repeat it.

There is a saying in real estate in listing the 3 most important things: location, location, location. I will use this for my argument: communication, communication, communication.
Of course I have to type cuz my mic is broken, but I always listen to others to try and collect information and plan tactical attacks.

Communication but also you need to be receptive to the communication.

"Hey, i've got 15 pop, what do you need for me ot back you up?" Or you can just see for yourself.

sometimes if i have pop and i look on the field and have no idea what i need to do i ask. If i get no answer i just pick something random, usually a tank cuz tanks are always good Cheesy

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Control over the battlefield. No matter what, never fight where the opponent wants you to fight - use scouts to find out what the enemy has, what could lure him out of there, and where is the best place to lure him to. Then, you kill them. Sometimes the enemy happens to be just in the right place already, then you go for the flank!

This is like the Infantry Vs Armour Vs Artillery combat arms argument, which is more important? All of them.

Information is a weapon and highly valued, but of little use without things like discipline, strength, communication and teamwork.

I don't think i could judge any one aspect, so i gotta agree with bob.

When shit looks bleak go for the vet.

(1) Information / Intel
You find the best position to maximise your forces' usage even if you're solo.

(2) The will to act
The guts to actually change the battle and fight.

(3) Telepathy with your teammates - good players don't need ventrilo or type to work together.
If solo play in 1 and 2 can't help you win the battle, then it's time for teamwork to win the day.

it all depends about if you've prayed before battle...

but seriously:
the most important thing in a battle is fun.

fun is reached with balanced teams.

balanced teams are formed when people dont stack.

....

...

...

there will always be stackers, i suggest pray you dont fight them.

100% dead on.

1) I forgot who it is but they use triangulation and wow talk about map hack. it allows us to see the order of battle and allows us to shift troops to defend or attack. Simply awesome.

2) Most people cant do this. If you dont take a chance or push hard then you leave the enemy with the initiave.

3) Vent is over rated. once you get your self decent allies its all common sense. Problem is a lot of people get locked into a part of the screen. They never see the mini map, the other units around them. You dont need fancy hotkeys or grouping when you can digest everything from current units, idle units both yours and his, mini map and alerts from units. This takes time to get down but when you got it.....its butter.
