how would an officer standing behind and outside the tank be able to prevent button just by visually watching the tank.
Would he just scream "HEY! dont get buttoned by that tommy squad" and *poof* it would instantly happen?
plus, officers cant supervise vehicles afaik.

Moved to suggestions and renamed thread to avoid confusion with the other one.

No Groundfire, that would be silly.
He uses a "radio", dont officers get a gimp with a backpack?
Cant supervise vehichles? Weird because when i supervise tanks they get that blitz lightning over them. But maybe it doesnt do anything...ill check next time.

Supervise works on vehicles, try it on a flame halftrack against elite infantry, it's nasty.

I think what he means is that basically button is the gun shooting at the vision slits and if there's an officer next to the tank and supervising it, it should be able to direct its fire at least.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

if i was a tommy gunner surely instead of spraying a tank you'd spray the noob officer with no cover next to him.

Yeh Tim thats what i was thinking.
To be clear, this post isnt about realism. Just seemed odd to me that a supervised vehichle could still get buttoned, just seems like something supervision should be able to handle.
And by the way, when an officer supervises he can stand behind the tank too. In any case, if the bren wants to shoot at the oficer thats fine, at least he wont be buttoning then.

Being an essentially free ability that comes with the bren upgrade, and given that it's on a relatively durable unit, I feel having at least the doctrinal counter of officer supervision is only fair. If it's even possible to do.

90MU is not an 'essentially free ability.' It costs 90MU. What else are you buying the bren gun for?

The officer costs 170 muni, and he gets supervision and arty on a 5min (?) timer, his usefulness seems a little too limited. He cant even pick up weapons ffs.
To ask that he can trump button doesnt seem like much, since it has to be in the AoE of the officer and he can only supervise one vehichle at a time.
