Been loving Mass Effect 2, it's just so damn awesome and an improvement over the first, with excellent dialogue and action, love the characters, old and new (especially Mordin and Tali!)!

In regards to the probing of planets, at least its better than running across its entire surface, and on the 360 I can clear a planet in about 2-3 mins very quickly (you only need to find the hotspots to deplete a planet, and on the 360 the controller vibrates). Also ASAP, get that mining upgrade so the scanner moves faster when scanning and I do vertical sweeps of 4 seconds at once (go all the way down, move over 4 sectors, all the way up, etc), then I do poles last.  You don't need to scan EVERY planet, since nailing a hotspot easily gives you 2-4k resources and I'm currently stockpiled in my game  Grin

Yea i do like the mining part better but it can get quit repetitive, i only do it when i have upgrades i want to do, other than that forget it. Other-wise, great game, i give it a 9.5 for now, might get a 10 when i complete it, its just been jawsome so far. I'm an infiltrator and sniping is so much better in this game and with the different type of sniper rifles, not just doing more damage, which makes so much more sense (cuz really...all bullets kill no matter the type of gun). YOu have the one hitta quitta, the quick 3 round burst that takes down shields fairly quickly and the semi-auto that you can just sit up and take down a tough enemy in no time and all the different personalities in this game is just awesome and also seeing the old characters popping up from your team and also from missions you did that you thought weren't that importanat. I can't wait to see if those two Batarians for the bringing down the sky missions are in there.

Combat is excellent, not so varied and being able to  use quick slots for your squad member abilities is just so sweet, and the AI is a lot better haha joker has some great dialogue, i go to him after every mission just for the banter. God...i never thought this game would be so deep but it's integrating as well, you get so into it. I"ve been playign for hours.

This game has single-handedly (probably) ruined my grades this quarter.  It's that good.  Tongue

Just finished awesome game, lost one squad member, i took some videos of stuff lol including my scene with Miranda, which wasn't as hot as ME1...guess they didn't want to upset the people who get uncomfortable with anything related to sex. Nothing to spoiler-rific, just some nice scenes.

I wonder if I broadcast me playing ME2 would any of you watch.

I just finished the game too, saved EVERYONE (all squad members, all members of the crew on the ship including Kelly and the doctor), also did Tali vas' Normandy as my love interest (I was playing Paragon playthrough).

It was just simply outstanding, I can't wait for Mass Effect 3 to see how big these decisions will impact the next game.  I'll avoid spoilers for those who haven't played/beaten it yet though.

So now I have Mass Effect 1 popped in, have a Renegade character half-way through and going to finish her up (female, evil badass) and then import her to Mass Effect 2, I can't wait to see how different I can screw up the good guys in it (Paragon, save everyone and every race, Renegade will be saying screw the council!), can't imagine how dim and dark her Mass Effect 3 playthrough will be with so many people dead, heh.

Its imperative you get as many people's status to 'loyal' prior to the IFF mission, because once you trigger the IFF, you start running a clock that can kill off the rest of your crew.  Any squadmates with loyal will usually have a better chance of surviving the final mission.

Next, you must go to the Omega 4 relay as soon as you're offered it, otherwise every side mission you do after that kills some of the crew.  Remember when you pick up Legion to talk to him before walking near the bridge so the game will recognize you have at least one more mission to do before skipping the clock entirely (thank god for my 40+ saves lol).

My team was as follows:

Tech Specialist: Tali
Squad 2 Leader: Garrus

Legion works as a tech spec, but you need to put dedicated specialists for all positions, otherwise if you put Mordin for example as the squad leader, you will take losses as he isn't good enough to keep his people alive (and could result in the tech specialist or other misc squad members being killed in the crossfire).

The next portion I had this:

Biotic Specialist: The Asari chick.. forgot her name...
Squad 2 Diversion Leader: Garrus
Escort Squad Leader: Zaeed (DLC member, removes him from the squad selection for rest of the mission for obvious reasons).  This guy MUST be someone tough to fight his way back to the ship to save everyone.

And then depending on your character and how you feel, you can leave one person to hold off all the enemy or your entire non-critical team to stall the enemy.  I'm pretty sure if you leave one guy (even if it is Grunt), I think he'll get killed, otherwise the whole team staying MAY result in losses if that person is not loyal.

On my next playthrough with the renegade, I'm thinking of NOT getting most of the ship upgrades, only LOYAL status'ing the guys I really like, and seeing how much of a bloodbath that final mission can get, heh.  Really curious as to what will determine what kills Shepard or not, maybe its from his core team not being loyal to save him at the end (I had Tali involved with my core team and the end, she ended up saving me, bless her heart!).

Oh, well im not sure i did any side missions after I got Legion other than doing his mission and running by Illium to get the last of some upgrades i wanted to get and then i went thru the relay, i didn't do anything other than that.

Heh, sadly only your character sees what's under her mask, as the player you do not see it though.

Tech Sepc : Mordin
Squadleader: Zaheed

Mordin got face raped at the end of that bit Sad

Biotic : Miranda
Leader: Zaheed
Rescue : Thane

Zaheed died after that. I did 1 mission after being offered the relay, so im guessing thats why grunt died, that annoyed me, grunt was ftw. Saved all the crew.

Was my 1st para playthrough, so imma have to do it all again to save everyone since i just saved over old saves Tongue

You can do one mission before the relay to save the 'regular' crew of the ship.  Zaheed died either because he wasn't loyal OR because you put him as a squad leader.  If he was loyal, then it's because of the role you gave him, and he isn't suited for squad roles, as he's a lone-wolf bounty hunter, which gets him killed.

Yup, you can go through the relay regardless, whenever you want.  And you could get an ending ranging from everyone living to many dying to having everyone PLUS Shepard getting butchered on that mission, depends how much preparation you do before going out...  Wink

At the end of the game, these were the squadmates I had left: Tali, Samara, Grunt. All were loyal....I'm dead serious WTF

I had the doctor as the tech leader and Zaeed as the fireteam leader. I just had a crazy roll. I was SOOOO PIIISSSED when Garrus died. OMG! Garrus is my fav.

I banged Tali too so I'm glad she  made it.

I remember talking to some1 about the game before I had finished it and another person overheard me and said "Don't spoil it for me." Jokingly I said "oh every1 dies in the end" and they all laughed cuz that's what we usually say as a joke about movies and games.....well......every1 died in the end.
