I remember back in the old days when after a battle.. a little bulletin would pop up on the website and explain in dramatic terms the outcome. Who won, how costly the battle was, etc. It was something like... "After a hard fought battle, the forces of the 6th blah, 31st blah, and 88th blah over came the allied blah blah blah. It was a close conflict with heavy losses on both sides but in the end, the Axis prevailed". That shit was awesome. Also awesome was giving your companies numbers. Like 66th Defensive, or 74th Blitzkrieg.

I say we bring that shit back. As well as the old attack and defend. It was cool tailoring your company to either mode and actually feeling like you were fighting for a purpose. I remember winning the battles that put the axis back on the attack. It was epic as shit and really added to the feel of the game. It felt like real persistence. Not just units and vet, but a war as a whole. The new war map minimizes this feeling. Mostly it's R+ and ME that do this. How about... after one side has blunted the other sides attack, you do ME or R+ till one side achieves a certain number of wins above the other. Then the winning side is back on the offensive.

Juuust something to think about after doctrines are in and the launcher gets a face-lift  Grin

I agree fully on everything.

you shouldnt be able to choose what mode you fight in. it should all be determined by the war map. that gives the feel of, as Mal stated, persistencey and nostalgia that you are infact part of the war.

It's planned for the news page in the launcher.

The new warmap is also planned for 009 or so, which should make the war as a whole more important.

in the mean time...how about a a bonus for playing atk/def? cuz atm r+ & me seems more fun (but the atk/def game i played last night was just awesome, non stop action)

Also, I think instead of having an option for allied attack or axis attack, there's just a button that says "Attack/Defend" and you click that and the game randomly picks who attacks and defends. Might be more fun that way for the mean time.

That is what they have at the moment! it's the magic lets turn it around button! every time you click Axis Attack, the allies attack, however, every time you click Allied Attack, the Axis have to wait 4 min! It's magic I tell you! MAGIC!

Still, yes, I support this idea, cause personally I dislike R+ and ME gets boring after a while, should also make "weirder" tactics possible.

Yeah, remove Allies attack/axis attack and make a new mode Attack/Defend with equal chances on both sides to defend.

How would you tailor a company when you don't know if you're going to attack or defend? They are two very different things. I say bring back attack and defend the way it was with R+ and ME being the decider on who's going to attack or defend in the next... umm... "phase" I guess. Random attack/defend would be an interesting new game mode though.

I used to do that before M/E came out. But I don't feel there's a reason to anymore.

I mean tailor your entire company. A company dedicated to defense, and a company dedicated to offense.

You're replay inspired me btw. Brought back all those warm and fuzzy feelings when I first played EiR.

You can do this now.

I think you just want the 4 minute setup time tbh...

..Yes... I want the four minute setup time. What the hell did you think I was getting at with wanting the attack/defend mode made more prominent? Four minutes to set up a defense, and four minutes with your team to plan an attack. That's the whole idea, silly. That in conjunction with my other suggestions would really improve the "peresistency" feel of the mod imho.

Uhhuh, ok, plan for an attack.

More like,
Player 1: "ill go this way, everybody follow me. Bring some minesweepers"
Player 2: "ok"
Player 3: "I hear a tank that will probably not be there anymore when we come on map"

*wait for 3 1/2 minutes in silence*

fun fun
