Why do the Commonwealth have the worst mortar in the game?  It's not in-keeping with the rest of the faction's units, which are typically good but expensive.  They often excel at one role.  The 2inch Mortar Team bucks the trend by being cheap and shit.  Even the Vickers MG is has the suppression boosting ability to make it stand out.

Is it because the Brits do not have a mobile mortar in vCoH, and so they are punished with a poor mortar as a replacement for the static mortar pit?  To make the Commando Mortar relatively attractive?  To take into account supercharged rounds?

This is not a balance thread, it's more a question of the intent behind the 2inch mortar.  I think it would be in-keeping with the faction design to have a good but expensive mortar instead.  Perhaps the range could be inbetween the American and Wehr mortar.

It might be necessary to restrict supercharged rounds to the mortar pit or reduce the benefit of supercharged rounds, but I think a unit should do it's job properly before buffs not afterwards.
