1. The STG44 is superior to the sten at base DPS, and the sten happens to have a million damage and accuracy reducing modifiers to various target types, making it even further inferior. Think there's a test vid where 2 squads of single STG44 upgrade storms annihilate 3 commando squads that use smoke at mid range to get to close, losing just 2 men(one of each squad).
2. KCH do in fact have an "oh-shit" button for those occasions. It costs 50 mun and starts throwing grenades everywhere the eye can see, on top of being a suppression breaker.

Thus making Commando Rifles that doesn't cost Munitions. It would be simply a specialized Tommy squad that would make commandos- well commandos.
They cost SO damn much munitions that you sell all your upgrades and an ATG to get at least 4 of those bastards.

Obviously you would have to make adjustments to your company to field 4 commando squads. It wouldn't be right if you could field a ton of brens and still have a lot of commando squads. This is similar to fielding lots of double shrek storms. Your pak/lmg/shrek/piv count would obviously take a loss to accommodate the costs of running lots of double shrek storms.

In Storm case I understand it, as you pay LOADS for ANTI TANK where Commandos only pay for Anti Infantry and STILL lose to Axis Assault Infantry.
Do note: Commandos have absolutely 0 % Anti tank cabilities so they can't defend themselves versus any sort of a vehicle.
Though P4 don't need mun upgrades, you can run them just fine even without sure they take dmg but the upgrades are not optional so it does not decrease ammount of P4s in your company, only LMG count. You don't need tens of ATGs if you got 2x Shreck storms ambushing.
In short as Two has said:
With cost of 350 Manpower and 165 Munition and 3 pool value
Commandos are NOT COST EFFECTIVE
In this the solution I've suggested Commando Riflemen
Specialized squads with handgrenades, smoke screen and the ability to buy Bren (No button ability), Riflegrenades (Smoke screen) and maybe even democharges.
This way these soldiers are decent at long range, good at medium range and can be upgraded to blow things up or hold the line against vehicles. As they cost no munition they are like specialized Tommy squads.

But the thing is docs aren’t supposed to be the same, yea your mandos cost a lot, but I still think they are cost affective, and reason why 2 stg44 win against 3 mandos is beyond me and have hard time believing, it 2v2 I could believe if the mandos are moving and running into the stg44s, that’s the same with al units even fjs, my fjs can get, well high score so far is 33 kills with one, but then only way that was possible was being stationary FIRST!! The first unit who stops and uses stable firing acc with a high Short range dmg output wins very simple. furthermore u have 6 guys in a mando squad, they are still very effective at just 4 man size, while fjs pretty much have to be microed to shit just after one loss, since when u lose third man the squad pretty much is useless. thou what I do think u should do is to make it like fjs that u can choose to upgrade the mandos or not, if that is possible, if u want to give them smgs then u pay the price for it, like the fg42s.
one more not, I saw someone complaining, or it at least looked like complaining about Commandos don’t have any AT, but u have piats and loads other shiet, it’s about supporting ur units not being able to blob everything. COMBINED ARMS PPL!!!!!
Plus dammed mandos have ur own sniper, while we in PE, al sheit we have is a half track that can be Killed by ANYTHING! sure its has mean as abilities, but its pathing is screwed up and its slow, and not very agile so it’s basically a AT/AI platform that is very easily killed plus the sniping is time limited with a long recharge!

Assault Grenades is nothing like Fire Up/Smoke, and should not be used or considered as such.
Besides, it costs 50Mu, which would raise the KCH's price to 185 (with only one use of Assault), and the Commandos would
still
be a bargain.

Try the commando squads for yourself - they aren't, by any stretch of imagination, a bargain.
Assault grenades are EXACTLY like smoke or fire-up : they break suppression. They also happen to throw a few dozen grenades at whatever suppressed them, or it can just be used to fuck a blob tits-up.
Don't forget the fact axis have quite a bit more suppression at hand in general : MG42s always suppress with one burst, the 81mm mortar can instantly suppress a squad with just one mortar shell. Allied elite infantry just get to use that fire-up or smoke far more often than KCH ever would.
Anyway, I sold 4 commando squads with grenades the other day. In their place I bought 5 rifle nades and 4 commando PIAT squads. Manpower wasn't an issue, as I was already spending all my fuel on fireflies for AT, and the commandos ate up most of the munitions. I think I'll be finding the mando piats and riflenades of far more use than the mando squads.

just give the commandos the zeal instead of the tommies, and then they had this ability that leth them cloack like storms right? i think its a t4 now..
making gliders actually silent would also work

So commandos without Sten but with a Rifle = Commandos without a munition cost.
That's my suggestion in a nutshell. Perhaps such class would have 2 pool value too?

u can have unupgraded, airborne, storms, rangers, i dont see why we shouldnt be able to?
