who'd not want to use their vet units?
Don't call it on field if you are scared to lose it or even better don't vet units up

He means put away vet units while you build a new type of company. Say you got 10 vet 3 commando squads and decide they're utter shit, but you still like them. So you could put them all in a separate place while you buy 10 commando PIATs and 6 bren squads instead. Then, if you miss your commandos too much, you can take them back into your coy, veterancy and all.

It could be a good idea for perhaps 1 - 5 units or so, might encourage people to play games they would've otherwise not played out of fear of losing vet.

tbh this just seems like a way to get some extra vet built up, for example if I had 7 m10s in my company (I don't, I swear!) and 2 were vet 2, I could take them out temporarily and put in 2 more vanillas. Then I would have 7 chances of getting an M10 away with vet 2, instead of 5 chances, and then later on I could put the stored vet M10s back.

I think in practice it would be used to train up a vetted company for tough battles, rather than to temporarily retire units you get bored of.

How about making a slot where you could put perhaps few units that you didn't wish to use all the time...so if you had vetted unit that you don't want to use this time because of different built you don't have to loose it...?
There is a possible extension (in 008) that I might implement, called the reserve. In this reserve area, you can keep a certain amount of units - probably limited by POP. These units cannot come on field, and do not count towards your company that is going to battle. Would that suffice?

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.
That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.
