Replay description: infantry doctrine, PR material, mortar smoke spam
Here's a good video showing american infantry doctrine power, and a lot of the new units used more or less effectively. The american officers are constantly on the field, the new assault rangers, the flamer riflemen, the grease gun riflemen. It's a allied defend by random 10% chance and the teams are kind of stacked in the allies favor, but maybe some of it could be used as PR material for the infantry doctrine, since there's 3 american infantry players and a lot of mortar smoke spam + special units new from Vcoh.
I think this replay also foretells balance problems people will voice sooner than later regarding the vast increase of mortar smoke capability on the allied side compared to the axis one. There's simply no easy way to avoid the vast increase in mortar smoke capability for axis other than fielding flamers themselves. PE can only do this on a single expensive squad in one doctrine while americans can field tons of the shit. Brits also have a lot of weapons working in mortar smoke cover. Generally the wehr flamers are are good but I'm unsure how they will stand up to this shift in allied tactics. That said the new american squads have more members meaning they will take more damage from counter-flaming, but on the same time be even better against regular small arms etc.
Situations in this game:
- Mortar smoke followed by infantry blob attack.
- Mortar smoke saving unsupported mortar and officers from small arms and puma
- Mortar smoke saving a 57mm Crew from being destroyed by a puma (at point blank!)
- Mortar smoke generally making the constant pummeling from allies unbearable for the axis
Some of the new Inf doctrine units:
- Greasegun Rifles
- American officers
- Assault rangers
- Flamer rifles
