SE countering t17 is funny, means you need an overwhelming amount of AT on the field at all times just in-case 1 8 pop-cap unit turns up.

Yeah man, fuck that, its not like there are units on the axis side which require a coordinated assault of the entire team to bring down! (see: king tigers).

To elaborate, this argument wont do. You could make up thousands of examples of this logic, like "why do I need a detector unit AND another unit to beat a cloaked unit? thats gay!" or "why do I need a spotter to have a unit fire to its maximum range? thats dumb!" or "why do I need ATG's to fight axis tanks AND the US tanks? Thats imba!". That's just the way the game works, and I don't even mean Eir, I mean Company of Heroes in general.

Its a part of the game mechanic. Some units require specific/non staple counters, and some require coordination. Its a team game, even in vanilla Company of Heroes 1v1's are utter shit and pale in comparison with team games!

That said, PE does have some problems that I mentioned above.

Also Heartman, most PE HT's take no damage from small arms fire or have to be under small arms fire for like many, many minutes to take even some remote damage.  PE HT is not vCOH armor, but American HT armor which is almost immune to small arms fire.

*PE HTs have a modified HT armor instead of Puma armor.

So you're saying the patch notes lie now?  They are using US HT armor since 7.4

US HTs are more suspicable to small arms fire than pumas.

I use US HTs all the time, the only time they take damage is say I sit them in front of 5 volks squads and let them shoot it point blank for like 10 minutes for them to kill it.

If by that you mean that are susceptible to small arms fire?

 You said 'most PE Hts' which is incorrect. Most HTs (50mm, LATHT, MHT, Vampire HT) are easily killed by small arms fire since they have original vCOH armour values AFAIK.

My 2 bren squads with a lieut in support beat gamesguy's IHT with assault-flammen-grens inside. Several times over. No other unit shooting at the IHT, just having one bren button the IHT while the other one killed the assault grens when they got out, then buttoned the IHT again.
Took me around half a minute to do so each time - hardly the "immunity" to small arms you're pretending they have.

Unless the PE HT has way, way less Health than the US one, I've done test games with May and Jodomar where they would throw entire callins of volks or grens at a halftrack, ended up eating up say an entire company (what's that, 20+ volks when not oversupplied?) and they would pretty much all die before crippling any US HT unless it was point blank range and they were firing for in excess of 5+ minutes or something.

Not 100% immunity but pretty dang close.

How long ago did you do these tests? Before the latest patches, the US HT also had puma armor.

And PE HT doesn't actually have US HT armour. It has a modified version of Bren armour that is less succeptible to AT guns, yet as good against small arms.

Oh wow then I'm mistaken, didn't think there was such a drastic change in US HT armor.

So all US HTs have puma armor? Is there anything in the game that actually uses the US HT and Wehr HT armor then?

US HTs HAD puma armour. Now they're enjoying their intended US HT armour.
PE HTs and bren carriers have something that's essentially US HT armour, but takes slightly less damage from AT guns.

The reason why volks weren't killing the US HTs is because they have K98s, which fire off a shot every 2.4 seconds, so 5 shots every 2.4 seconds from a squad.
A single bren gun fires from 10 to 14 shots in a burst, or 21 shots if it's in button mode.
This lasts from 1.5 to 2 seconds or 3 seconds respectively.

So they fire off a total of 42 shots (4 likely penetrations) from just the two bren guns alone in the same time it takes volks to fire a total of 10 shots(1 of which will likely penetrate). Quite a difference in DPS there, and that's the reason why a PE HT gets chewed up by brens, whereas US HTs can nearly ignore volks shots.
