I dont know if anyone else has had this problem, and I dont think it is an EIR issue, its either Relic or my computer.  Starting two days ago, Ive been taking extra long to load into games, the bar seems to stall in the load screen at about 3/4 through and then takes another 3 minutes to get through the last quarter.  After that, the game works fine.

I thought maybe it was an overheating issue, but after cleaning the dust out and checking my fans and cooling system im still gettting this spike.  This only happens with CoH so its not a connection problem, I dont think.  Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Try and see if lowering your settings works.
(You can lower some settings and improve performance without really making the game more ugly)

I used to be the first to load every time and now i am almost always last. I stall at around the 2/3rds mark. I also play on highest settings and never lag. I'm sure theres a reason and I suspect its due to porn but I cba to find out what.

If you are using XP :

Right click my computer, go to properties.
Click on hardware, then device manager.
Go to IDE ATA/ATAPI controlers.
Right click Primary IDE channel(first one, if there are several, though later repeat the following process with the others)
Properties
Click Advanced Settings.
If the "Current Transfer Mode" states PIO mode, then you need to go to Driver and uninstal the driver. Reset when prompted to(should happen twice), and you should be good to go.

Yeh I use XP, and I have two  IDE ATA/ATAPI controlers, a primary and a secondary.  The primary is on PIO, and the secondary is on ADM.

Which drivers are you talking about tho?  Im hesitant to mess with drivers tbh.

OK Myst, I've done the following: defragged, and I did the driver uninstall thing you recommended, so instead of PIO both are DMA.

And, still Im getting a nasty stall on loading, and then game runs smooth ven at ultra vid settings.  Weird, eh?
