I woke up to a virus owning the shit out of my computer, I cleaned it off, but in the process:
1.  Used Microsoft System Restore twice (QQ, corrupted my programming archives!)
2.  Aggressively disabled a bunch of services

I can launch CoH, but EIR:R is crashing when I click "Launch" from the auto-updater.  I've followed the first two steps in the Game Troubleshooting post (run XNARI -> says I'm fine...run DirectX runtime installer...says I have a newer version).

EIR:R is installed in my \steamapps\common\company of heroes directory, with two folders appearing, EIRRLauncher and EuropeInRuins.  Looks like the right file structure to me.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled EIR:R, but that didn't work.  Any other ideas?  Short of the tedium of going back through all the services and dicking around?

I have the money for that, but no.  I built this thing two years ago and it still loads stuff faster than 95% of the other people out there.

Just went through my services and set the disabled ones to manual, didn't change a thing.

Are you on windows 7/vista? If so are you running as administrator? Also it could be down to your .net framework which causes the crash.

Like Jesus, Keeps died for us

He made a funny thread for bear, and got banned.

Now bear makes his own funny thread. It's unsurprisingly not funny.

Keeps died for our funny threads.

Yeah - when you first posted that I started looking into the .NET stuff - downloading a full redist so I can run a repair.
