EDIT: So, remade the whole tourney thing.

The day 1.8 comes out, we could have a tournament of 2v2s. Have two people pair up for the entire tournament, and then in the finals, the final two teams compete for like, 3% increase in each resources. It would be fun.

But to stop pure ownage, there can't be teams like Shoe and Stumpster or Lai and Unkn0wn.

well we aren't 100% sure as community members if the patch will be available or not on sunday, but if it is ... lets get us a tournement going, of course these would have to be 2 on 2...
Lets hope we can get a estimated time of release...

Reasonably speaking we can expect everyone to be fit for 3 fights, we'll try to make it a 4 fight tournement, if we get enough players.. this will prove that not only are you good with your base companies, you also know how to maintain some sort of force over multiple fights.

the first fights will be winner take all, the winners from team1 and team 2 will fight the winner from team 3 and 4.. the second round will be a best of 3, swapping attacker vrs defender, and the tie breaker will be decided by random number.   

the winner of that round will fight for the final prize, with whatever company they have available...  prize? bragging rights, and a replay to post to prove it.  figure thats a max of 5 games, you SHOULD be able to survive for that many if you watch your units...

what ya guys think, win the first EiR tourny.. prove you have the micro skill to maintain an army over 4-5 fights... and gain your CPS ... 

if the fights take to long we can maintain the tourny over a extended period as it will be easy to prove the fights through recordings and battlefiles..  i'll work on the 'official' ideas more tomorrow.

Could ask fldash to give everyone a same amount of resources & cp to play with for a one day tournament just before the wipe. Then see who can stay standing.

I had actually planned it a bit differently. When the teams would sign up, each allies team would play each axis team, vice versa. Then the allies team and the axis team with the most wins would face off in a battle royal. It'd be awesome.

you can't do that though, firstly you hav elimits on the armies themselfs, they won't last more then 4-5 fights for a day, secondly you have time frame involved in a 2 on 2 fight and connection issues..

so realisticaly speaking keeping it to 8 teams and braketting it is the only way to ultimately get a fair number to sample from.

An Iron Man tournament where you only get a single company throughout the entire length of the tourney would be a very interesting idea.

On the other hand, we'd be fucked over by connection problems.
