Math is one of the subjects that teachers say you'll use for the rest of your live. I've yet to find myself in a situation where I did not have a calculator on hand to tally up my numbers. I've also yet to use Algebra

Math is a good subject to have exams in - little memorizing, mostly understanding

And that's why you're not a corporate executive, or a lawyer, or an economist, or (insert well paid respected position here)...

Who says I want to be those things? Rather be in a job that I want to have rather than one that simply makes me money.

Different means to different ends, akra. Other people have greater ambitions to aspire to - and for them learning maths is important.

This.

If you understand the techniques you don't have to learn shit for your exams.

Never said BASIC MATH wasn't important, but for every day working and jobs; advanced math just doesn't get used.

Depends on the job - for you advanced maths may as well not exist. Lai, being a doctor, likely can survive with basic maths as well(though advanced maths builds logical thinking, which is necessary in medicine). Escforreality, though, would be absolutely useless in his job as an engineer without it.

As I said - different means to different ends.
