THQ Inc. and Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited today announced a co-development and publishing agreement for an online-only version of THQ's critically acclaimed 3D Real-Time Strategy (RTS) PC game Company of Heroes™.  Company of Heroes Online™ (working title) is currently being co-developed by THQ studio Relic Entertainment, the creators of Company of Heroes, and Shanda.  As part of the agreement, Shanda has obtained the exclusive license to operate Company of Heroes Online in Mainland China, and THQ and Shanda will also share the benefits of the game’s potential release outside that region.  Company of Heroes Online is scheduled for release across Mainland China in 2008.

I sense a dedicated american... I meen canadian will translate and make an english patch.... THEY BETTER! As if an american could translate from chinese to english.

Only reason they are doing this is because if they didnt Relic would lose sooo much money on piracy over there, so they decided to have the game released over there in this form.

It takes nothing away from EIR, EIR has much more thought and creativity than this does.

Its happened more than 3 times, I cant recall all of the mods that developers have picked up people from and brought them on board of their newest or current project.  It happens quite frequently.

We went over this when it first came out.. We really don't know how it works, but what little info we have seemed to indicate its not a direct competitor with EIR.

Don't forget about TFC and Portals. Those were also successful mod stories. But we're talking about Relic and they may not function like Valve.
