I suppose that 75mm have a better splash damage, but using CohStats i've got another result:

75mm
AOE Distance        AOE Damage
L - 3                   0.35
M - 1                  0.5
S - 0.25               1

76mm
AOE Distance        AOE Damage
L - 3.3                0.3
M - 1.5               0.4
S - 0.75              1

So... Can u explain guys?

While I cannot explain that(higher velocity round=more splashy splashy?)

I can tell you that the 75mm sherman has a moving cooldown multiplier of 1 so that won't make any difference what soever for tanks. Now if your onfused as to why i mentioned moving cooldown in relation to splash AoE/Damage you'll be closer to understanding how retarded relic can be.

It's probably the fact that the 76upgun is a munitions upgrade in vCoH and they couldn;t completely kill it vs infantry.

in vCOH the increased reload make the upgunned sherman a bit less effective against infantry

but stats got fucked around in eir (like always) and the upgrade is made cheap as fuck making the 76mm Sherman the ultimate PWNzer against everything < panther

basically shermans are the hardcounter to shrek squads (except storms)

yea the fked up the sherman 76. its bull now

you know. id be happy for a 10mu increase and a -50% accuracy against Infantry. than it will be relatively balanced. as it is now. no.

Are we just now starting to bitch about the removal of the 1 second upgun reload penalty?

Newsflash, upgun was good before that buff, we only needed to start the doctrine rework with armor for this to become flavor of the month.

I think the 76mm, the sticky and the bazooka all could get a slight price increase for balance purposes, right now american AT feels underpriced. The way people play with them (huge spam blob) ((at least more often than not)) enforces this impression.

But yes, the 76mm upgrade seems to be a flat buff for the sherman, similar to the p4 skirts.

Someone should check the stats on the 76mm sometime because it certainly feels like it hardly gets reduced splash damage anymore.

Definitely, and I'm also growing suspect of ninja changes, like the 50mm puma not having its 0.75 accuracy vs soldier armor. It's gay when stuff is changed and not put in the patch notes. I went over the last 5-6 patches and could not find this change

edit: apparently this was part of some cleanup

Gamesguy and his american tank bias is to blame!!

Gamesguy was the very first person to bring up 76mms being better at splash than 75mms, actually. I then argued with him for long and hard and we finally came to a concensus that 76mms are better vs volks/pzgrens, whereas the 75mm is better vs grens.

I do guess the 76mm could use either equalisation in splash radiuses and a slight munitions increment. Though I don't think it's as problematic as some are trying to make it out to be.

just lower 76s splash, basically the same result.
1shotting a 3 man schreck grensquad? no problem atm.

but i guess...
...that is all part of the balancing process

its a bit sad that it takes THAT much time for you guy to find out which units are broken and need to be fixed.
i suggest to increase the amount of balancers and make mysthalin the offical stats-changer (not balancer) of this mod
-> faster balancing

Wait till you see the M1A2 Abrams, new armor t4! Cheesy

It never had reduced splash.  76mm has bigger splash than the 75mm in vCoH and we never changed that.  Me and Mysthalin had a nice and long argument over whether the 76mm(with the longer reload) was even a downgrade vs infantry.  Now that it has the same reload, the 76mm is just plain better.

Sorta like how skirted P4s are just plain better than unskirted ones.

NEEEEERF 76mm !!!!!!!!

big AT gun that shoots AP rounds shouldnt have more splash than a basic bullet.

in vcoh it a tank depo upgrade that costs fuel - you cant go back, so making the tank less effective vs inf sucks in vcoh coz u cant go back then.

in eir u can choose per tank. a gun thats better vs inf and better vs tank should cost a lot more than it does now...

also 2 shermans massacre inf at will. remember that .50 cals are utter rape and suppression machines. whats worse with next generation and xp loaders they fire almost endlessly without reload.

ffs, playing as wehr i never have issues vs 76mm shermans, i guess cuz I use grens over volks. Just change your tactics, if the 76's are raping your volks, then go for grens since no ones using the 75mm anymore and those are the ones you use vs grens.

and to Leo uhh, it's a 76mm shell over a 75mm shell, meaning its going to do more dmg vs everything, including a bigger splash so yea, it should be a bit more effective vs infantry.

Removing the 1 sec penalty made the 76mm sherman a better tank, before then no one used it because you were nerfed vs infantry AND tanks. The thing is, in vcoh, if you have a bunch of 76mm shermans, the 1 sec delay isn't a big deal but here that one sec reload doesn't help you beat a p4 which already has a higher reload than a 75 and then u add on a second to that and the p4 still rapes a sherman.

The fact is, Skirts make p4's more resilient and the upgun makes shermans stronger fighters but still leaves shermans not very good defensively, especially when u consider the -10% that p4's get vs the sherman gun.

I say keep it and make it 80mu, raise the t-17 sandbag price (just throwing that in there but its needed) and make the Zook 60mu.
