Old double-shot, option to double-shot on toggle,
stealthy silenced first round second fully displayed on minimap screen and clickable icon,
or double-shot with no warning at all, perhaps only in cover no warning applied?
Any of these sound good for a Terror unit, it would scare me losing a guy, then watching another die in the blink of an eye, Zerged AT guns leading to lack of AT would terrorize my infantry so anyway thoughts?

I'd like to see the Gewehr 43 change into a Kar 98 in the sniper's hand. Scoped or not no matter.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

What would truly terrorize me with a double-shot sniper would be the fact how
retardedly
OP it would be.

Grens 4 shots to kill
pgrens 3 shots
rifles/Rangers/Airborne/Commandos 3 bursts
yes I thought it would be kinda powerful but for a t3 in an otherwise weak doctrine and being the choice between firestorm and a KT it has to be capable of doing something.
The American sniper can have a field day shooting expensive low man count squads whereas the Wehr sniper gets to shoot at best 5 man tommies and at worst 6 man everything else.
With this it would make an allied player think twice about keeping his vetted 2 man squads of rangers or airborne or bars with suppression on the field not to mention it would fit with terror and again this is in conjunction with Marksman shot and is a T3, it had better be pretty awesome in comparison to airborne medics or bombing run or falls cloak (Ghille suits) to name a few, especially considering that that marksman shot is going against again 5-6 man squads.

There was a reason it was removed from vCoH. We don't need to resurrect it.

American sniper is great against grens and PE. But its facing a lesser number of easy kills than the wehr one. The single death might not hurt as much, but there are plenty of targets. Cloaked storms, immune kch (sorta) give the sniper a headache. Its not as black and white.

only the wehr sniper has to face much more light vehicles. not to mention all the fire up infantry..
allied sniper is easy mode, exept if u face clowncars.

If it was so Terrific, wouldn't it be epic if the Sniper shot would actually Suppress infantry? I mean, one shot, people drop down scared of getting hit and THEN the 1/2 modifer kicks in. With it, one sniper could terrify all allied mighty blobs that comes without fire up like abilities.
Just a thought

you could make them duck for cover like when they get hit by a big explosion.
but no supression lol.

What I think should be done:
New unit, unique veterancy tables, 30% chance to not land a crit. If it stays at 50% the price should stay the same as the regular. Gains an extra shot ability that leaves him cloaked with 100% chance of crit.
Maybe not 100%, around 80-90, and ofcourse retreating unit modifiers so it wont be used for griefing
The idea of having a sniper, that does not give an "Unit sniper" indicator and stays camoed after first shot sounds neat tho! Would love to use it ^^

@Deatsheds - you're forgetting these units :
Sappers : 4 men.
Engineers, commando piats : 3 men.
All support crews : 3 men(with ATGs/mortars decrewed in 2 shots).
Also - pzgrens are by default 4 men in this mod.
There is NOTHING that will justify doubling the DPS of a unit(except making it cost twice as much with twice the popcap) - the fact it's a T3 doesn't give it a go-ahead-be-OP card.

so we dont like the double shot Idea guys.....we get it...moving on?
What about some sort of overwatch ability where you posiiton the sniper, and then have it set to watching a specific point ( circular area), It would then only shoot when an enemy enters that area, and It would receive bonus's of some sort. This kind of simulates the sniper watching a specific choke point. As to what the bonus's would be im not sure, It could be extra range, or an increased rate of fire ( decreased weapon cooldown), or it could cause suppression, or it could not uncloak, any sort of buff really, I just had the idea and kinda liked the concept of having to set your sniper up in advance.
This idea might be better suited to the Heavy Support t4 though, if all the support weapons were to be given distinct abilities, which would be sweet.

I think it would be awesome in you could target a squad 1st shot instant kill and instant suppression the other shots just high damage
