Since i first joined i saw helping out new players get into the game was always on the agenda, now, theres even tutorials on setting up companies and playing the game, but i think we should add a little more to the guides. Iv seen many new players who try joining games and only end up lost in the COH lobby, or who couldnt connect to the host so came back to the launcher without waiting for a rehost, and when someone disconnects from the game they just come back to the launcher.

So i think it would be helpful if you added somewhere in the tutorial what to do, when someone disconnects before and after 5 mins, what to do if you cant connect to the host etc. Helping all the new players who come along and avoiding the frustration it causes when a player in your game disappears.

I think the problem from launcher to in-game is that, if they don't have vent, there's no way to communicate. Ie. They get lost.

Sometimes I manage to find them by trying to whisper (in-game) to see if they're there, and check the chatroom "Play CoH mods".

I think that if we just make sure everybody goes into that chatroom we can find eachother a lot easier.

true,

but all these basic problems can be fixed if the newbs get on vent and you say it to them yourself when it happens.

also, you must 1st login and make a profile, and then you can see the video how to do it.

there should be a link on the launcher login screen that shows how to make forum account, register in warcp, login on launcher and make a profile before you've done that all yourself.

lol falcon, same post.

would be cool if the launcher acually communicates with ventrilo, so u can press a button to start vent and the server info shows up.
and when the game goes to "starting mode" everyone joins a free battle channel automatically(would be REALLY handy when automatch goes in)

I can see some newcomers seeing vent as an annoyance, and for them a obvious channel to reach them in-game would be through in-game whispers and chatrooms (ie. the "Play CoH mod" one, it's pretty obvious.)

Vent would still be preferable though.

In a new player's mind,  all they want to do is try the mod and get in a game as fast as possible, that was my thought when I first came to EIRR.
