might be a dead end but the light tank has a 800 range detection radio. for scouting, there is no other.... he'll be useful from now till when we have king tigers around.

The 810m radio is available on the p4 aswell.
Afaik, it doesn't help detection. It just makes sure everyone around you sees what you see.

Radio does nothing for your view range indeed, it's the turret that affects view range. In fact, view range tends to go up as you progress, so medium tanks often have longer view range than light tanks. (I don't know about the view ranges for the German light tanks, but I know all the Russian light tanks have crappy view range. The A-20 has the best view range among them, but the PzIV beats it handily.) The radio is used to send and receive information about spotted tanks to/from teammates.

sure it's not the other way around...how can u transfer xp to gold? I know when u have elite status u can transfer 100xp for 2 gold into free xp...

Yeah, "transfer" means "transfer xp to free xp at the cost of gold". There's currently no other way to get gold than the 150 you get each day during the beta. (When it's released, of course, you can buy it. After all, that's what they intend to make money from. It's also mentioned in a forum topic somewhere that they might consider rewarding contest winners of various sorts with gold.)
