Thank you for the clarification. Here's a new diagram I made:

In this case, 1 can see A and 6 can see B. 1 communicates with 2, who communicates with 3 and 4. Thus, 1, 2, 3 and 4 all know where each other are, as well as where A is. However, 5 and 6 have too short radio range to communicate with anyone. Thus 6 is the only one who knows where B is, and noone else on the team knows where 5 or 6 is.

Edit: Incorrect, see below for the actual mechanics.

I really hoped that my explanation was clear. It appears that it wasn't.

However it's good that you have attached the pic. Once again how the system works:

  • only 2 radio ranges that directly touch/cross each other are summed, that means that if your "circle" crosses someone else's one, you both automatically share your view with that tank
  • the same mechanism works for each pair of tanks

That means (according to your picture), that
1) 1 can see A and 6 can see B
2) 1 communicates with 2, thus 1 and 2 know where each of them is, as well as where A is
3) however 1 doesn't communicate with 3 and 4, so all of them are not aware of each other
4) only 2, who communicates with 1, 3, and 4 knows the coordinates of 1, 3, 4, and A too
5) the rest is correct

I hope it makes some more sense now, taking into account that we have visual aid here.  Smiley

Ooor you can just quote it all here...

It's probably no problem with this sort of thing, but we should probably not quote too much from the closed beta forum (NDAs and all that).

I've got the 85mm gun for my T-34/85 now. I figured I'd try the 100mm because a guy in game said it was good. I do prefer a faster RoF though, not to mention the added bonus of a weight reduction

Tell me how the 85mm is please. I'll be a bit sad to let my t-34 go though, so i might keep it and its 110% crew and just buy the 50% crew for the t-34-85. What's your crew at with the t-34-85? And is it helping..

PzIII/IV and PzkpfwIV
Which is better?

good question

the PIII/IV has better side armor and a better default gun, but for PIV you can research more different guns

im wondering myself what tank is better when you want to stay at a medium tank

PIII/IV is cheaper, but more expensive upgrades.
sloped armor.

panzerIV can get a turret with a panther gun Cheesy

but that looks retarded tbh and probably make it very slow in acceleration and turret rotating

the advantage of the T-34 is that you will get a good tank for a low price.
the armour of the t34 is 45mm on front and sides. the armour on the front is angled at 30 degrees, making the actual thickness 90mm. this would mean the armour is actually better than the almost 4 times more expensive VKs. but the game sometimes just seem to fail at replicating the actual effects of sloped armour. it could also be that your t34 is not at horizontal terrain, resulting in a worse front armour again (a VK actually gets better armour when not on horizontal ground).
another problem is that the t34 cant get an engine with good horsepower. the thin armour of the t34 makes it lighter than the VKs. but because the VK can buy a 680 hp engine while the t34 sticks at 510, the VK will accelerate faster while it weights 8 more tonnes.

the t34 is great because of the low price, but the t34-85 costs a lot more while keeping the same armour(excluding turret), worse speed and acceleration(because of extra weight but no better engine), same view range and same radio range. the 57mm of the t34 has 117 mm penetration already, which is enough to battle most tanks.

So you wouldn't suggest taking the T-34-85, Leo?

PzIII/IV has a better engine that can be researched.

if you want heavy tanks , go for russians  , they start with tier 4 KV  which outclasses by gun and armor tier 4 and 5 medium germans ,
by the time you get to tier 6 tiger russians get IS which has 120 armor as far as i remember and tiger only 100 , IS also gets stronger gun.

If you want medium tanks go germans , the german medium tank line always has better armor then the russians (exception is the last t44) but the panther 5 gets the best gun for medium tanks  , it makes 203 penetration and 220 dmg , you can penetrate maus from front.
T44 gets a gun of only 177 penetration so you cannot kill the most heavy ones.

pz3/4 has better armor than pz4 and it's a way to specialized medium tanks  and not to heavies

I wonder how m10 will play out ,  it's going to be a fast TD with a turret , just like in COH.

Seems OP to me , eve tho he won't have any armor , but the current TDs dont have any armor either but you will be able to dodge just like with light tanks and circle strafe

nugnug - M10 will likely have the same "epic" hand-cranked turret as it had in Real Life(IIRC) - meaning retardedly low turret rotation.

not really, german tanks are much more worth it.

I heard they wouldn't have the m10...Only medium and heavies for US, unless i'm grossly misinformed (quite possible)

Edit: Just checked and yes there will NOT be an m10. Only spgs, light, medium and heavies for the US
