What does TLS stand for by the way?
And I really want to do this, would make a topic asking for some people to play, sadly, I don't have a single clue about the "rules" of TLS Sad

The Last Stand, we have a epic ( i still have it ) flash map of france we used..

tbh I'd run it again when I finish Fall of France, as that is more the ideal platform for this type of thing then I found EIR to be.  The control of progression was more harmful then helpful in EIR/TLS...  FOF doesn't have out of game progression so everyone starts at the same, and will have their own unique companies by design..

we'll see if it ever gets to that point, its a lot of work.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

What I'm not saying is that it's actually not a recent development. Preliminary work began about a year ago.  Wink

basically players formed divisions ie. 1st infantry, 101st airbourne 3rd Armoured etc.

These divisions played out like a campaign. so for Day 1 101st Airbourne players played only Carentan against all the 5th Terror players. Every time you played a game you submitted the final screenshot showing who won. If the axis players won more then they pushed the AB back on to the beach. If the Allied players won they moved forward to the next map (whatever that may be).

Armoured/inf fought on the beach maps first of course.

There was originally certain rules such as the AB players couldn't use any vehciles and the Wher players could only spend 200 fuel. Shit like that.

There were other scenarios and stuff. One particularly successful duo had to play 3 consecutive games without resupplying and if they won (which inexplicably they did) they got some kind of bonus (I forget what).

It was most memorable for the Ride of the Failbourne. The Airbourne players spectacularly failed and didn't win a single map. Although in their defense this was due in large part to them having no vehciles and axis players spamming mg42s and KCH.
That sound quite some fun, is this for insta respected players only?

TLS kicked ass I loved that (Note my name here is still from those days). It was really fun. We even had forums where the allies could only access the allied section to receive their orders and an axis section. If I'm not mistaken that forum became the basis for Operation market Garden mod did it not?

The rules where awesome, like spending no fuel on D-day etc. It was great. Its a real shame TLS 2 never took place I was really looking forward to it. I really wanted to play the blitz company that had exactly zero AT but some of the best AI in the game.

It's peculiar how so many people have a romantic view of TLS when at the time very few people actually enjoyed it.

TLS was the most fun we had in EIR for a long time.

Too bad TLS2 never got off the ground. We were going to make a set of custom maps for it and had preset template companies.
