Too many losses
«
on:

Hey guys, I've been having trouble with taking a huge amount of losses, and very little kills to amount for them. 9 out of 10 games, i have a K/D ratio of about .5 to .75. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong and how to keep my guys alive. I play Terror, its currently a level 3 account with not many unlocks. But still, even on my lvl 9 airborne company I always take heavy losses with little kills, in both infantry and vehicle aspects. I'll post a replay of me playing if any of you guys would be willing to critique
.
Also any suggestions on my core would be very welcomed:
1 x Stug (all upgrades)
1 x Grens (lmg + medkit)
1 x Volks (mp40 + faust)
1 x Pios (flame, medkit, goliath)
1 x Pak 38 (medkit)

For your Airborne company it is understandable for you to be taking large amounts of losses because that is how American companies are with their large squad sizes. On the other hand, taking large amounts of losses on your Terror is not a good sign because you generally have fewer troops in Wehrmacht companies.

i mean some games i do pretty well and i get about a 1 K/D ratio as terror
also my tanks always go very very fast, for ex. i try keeping my stug behind the infantry for support, but the atgs still get 1 or 2 shots on it then i have to reverse, but by that time HP is half gone
heres a game i played today:

Only suggestion i have is never become to stationary, thasts when you'll be flanked instead of you flanking them, always make your enemy play on your terms not on his

Use stugs to clean up infantry that is not supported. Or help ur teammates armour pushes is good vs shermans and croms and it's mg supresses well.
U might want to swap grens or pios for a hmg good for closing down sector with pak
I run hmg, mortor, stug(full upgrades), pak, Volks with mines and fausts and that works well for me.

Alot of players first come to EiR and they get caught up in the "front line, hold ground" mentality. Where they just bleed troops trying to hold either a useless position or an indefensible position.
vCoH was never very good at impressing upon players the need to recognize a good location to fight. The game is typically decided over early engagements which lead to a troops advantage.
In EiR picking your battles is more important because of the finite troops. Anytime you see yourself defending a spot you should ask yourself, why?
Is this building crucial to my Teams defense of the map?
Does holding this field force my enemies to give ground elsewhere or risk losing more forces.
How much can I fire at, and how much can they fire at me if I sit here?(and with what)
Just because that sector is blue doesn't mean it's worth defending. You'll see that most of the best players in EiR will fight in areas that are beneficial to them regardless of whose territory it is.
All this doesn't mean that losing units quickly is bad. Sometimes you need to bleed troops in order to hold enemy units in place or buy time for a team mate to flank/reposition.
Seeking advice is a good start but you'll only pick it up through experience and learning from went went well and why or what went wrong and why. Watch your own replays to see what happened.
You can usually spot a cascade event in the game where a series of things happened because of a single engagement or placement. Some are obvious like You built a Flak, and they tried to kill it. Others are less subtle, like you move Support teams back, then Mass retreated all your needless infantry. Feigning a defeat. Only so that while your enemy surged forwards your team mates could drive in with tanks while the enemy was in a poor position

I agree with the above posts. I would personally recommend trying more support weapons for a start. Try to use mortars and make sure they're protected. You could also try to use a lot of hmg 42s because allied players use a lot of infantry. I would simply recommend trying different things to figure out exactly what you want to start with.

Hey man,
Dont worry too much you have a lowbie company, it will improve with you.
I laughed when cam's rrs raped you with a grenade or something, and you exclaimed in teamchat something like this: "That bastard! Im gonna get him"
And then you spawned a single flammenwerfer ht and sent it after the rrs
lol. just lol.

Personally, I think you're too spread out. In the beginning when you're facing stronger individual units than your own units a lot of time, it might be easier to concentrate your efforts.
Maybe you should practise your counter-game a lot if you are taking losses without dealing damage back. Start with 2 bikes, and send them out to find the enemy player's starting platoons. If they are either light on anti-infantry, or anti-tank, just bring out loads of 1 type. The delay between spawning your real force after the bike will usually by far be weighed up by the damage you can do with a more catered callin.
Say you encounter only 1 57mm from one person's 25 pop core, sucide your bikes to damage the crew as much as possible and bring out:
1 x P4
A flammenwerfer HT
A puma
Call it out (23 pop) and just rampage that guy's core

thanks smokaz, i think you're right, the main thing i keep in mind when i build my core is to make sure it can deal with anything, but in doing that, it can only deal with one type (lets say AT) only in a mediocre fashion, and probably the at will be overwhelmed, leaving me only with AI which will get raped
although the bike thing doesnt sound like my kind of playing style, but i'll try it to see if i can pull it off, it does seem like a very logical thing to do
