I know I'm still a noob, but I feel like having Raid + Easy Company in the same tree is kinda double rape. Encourages blobs.. that dont die.

i feel like it fits in the operation overlord tree, and with airborne overhead, i mean it fits in the theme, but oversupplied is fail in that tree, maybe replace that with Raid? but only add like 5 pop?

Maybe remove the T4 and replace it with "Operation D-Day"

- Quads, m8's arrive by glider
- Rifles, Engineers, Airborne rifles, Airborne all arrive by parachute
- BAR upgrade now grants 3 bars for regular rifles
- Airborne now field rifle m1 carabines with a purchase of the RR upgrade
- Droptime 15s flat always
- Satchels gain 1 extra use
- All infantry receive 0.80 less damage on the move

Something FUN, but not super mega op

or like a 10% chance that a member will drop without a weapon, and can only get a weapon when 1 squad member dies

Interesting idea smoker. Personally i'd like to see airborne rifles be taken out and just let rifles be paradroppable tbh.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Yeah except it doesn't make sense, no paratrooper in history has ever dropped without his basic gear and rifle

Check out Failschrimjägers when they dropped in that one Island which English name I can't recall. They dropped down with a knife and pistol Grin

One huge problem here is balancing the base airborne unit vs the end result

lmao i didnt' say his gun, I said the ab rifles. If u just let basic rifles be paradroppable, theres no airborne armor, no fireup.

God there would be even less point to paradropping rifles then there are now to AB rifles.

paradropping in no way makes a unit any more viable nor is that alone even worth a doctrine choice by itself as a stand alone unit.  (paradropping rifles lol)

If it were up to me, I would give AB rifles the HP of a normal rifle squad, and give it a reduced MP cost.

Without that armor or health buff the unit is just not worth it.

IMO, taking both the armor and reducing the health of the AB rifles is just balancing with a sledgehammer and not a scaple. Its a gross over nerf to the unit.

how about making it a 5 man squad, and adding a t3 doctrine unlock in a tree besides the one with Easy Company, that adds a 6th man? or else they're pretty hard to deal with when blobbed and healed

cant use nebels or stukas either, the blob will take those out very quickly, and before even blobbing, the player will make sure theres no artillery of any type on the field

Split easy coy up. The new easy coy will still have +25 % and the new raid will just the fire up buff into raid with no Pop bonus?

There's still at eagles. A flat 20% increase is too powerful considering the RR atw already have the highest penetration the entire game.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

Actually. The AB rifles have 6 garand in total, there's no sarge in the squad.
Both the Rangers and the normal rifles have a sarge that uses the much weaker m1 carbine that decrease the firepower of the Overall squad, but the AB rifle doesn't have this penalty.

This would also affect the bar upgrade as 4 garand + 2 bar is more powerful than 3 garand 1 carbine 2 bar.

AB Rifles should be Airborne, with M1 Garands instead of Carbines. Give them Grenade as a purchase and satchel charges. Done.

Then add in air dropped weapons crates with 2x BARs, upto 2 purchases or some such. But one is an unlock on the bottom and the other is a doctrine ability or part of one.

Idk, as much as I like weapons drops and how cool little niche systems like that are, remember how broken it was when luftwaffe could airdrop 200+ munis worth of support weapons and upgradables?

also, being able to overload 4-5 BARs on one AB squad and babying it is no better. Even more so, just use the airdrops for normal AB and forgoe AB rifles all together.

Naw, I think that we should stick to the system of upgrading units with weapons in the launcher for a set price so they can be regulated and balanced.

Even the Rangers have a carbine in their squad. Why Should the AB rifles be excluded from it?
