He's crazy, the Tiger does it quickly enough the friendly fire dmg is a little on the low end but the sheer damage output makes up for it. You need Medium range to get effective splash, short won't hit you and long with vaporize half a squad

The thing with tiger is abit as marders, its turret has slow rotation until u get cos and/or vet 2 which basically makes it a killing machine, but before that its a fat ass chess-burger with an exploding chill-sauce gun!
But the thing is You should never attack alone with tiger, it works its best with support, volks work great but only if u have assault nades, otherwise they just get suppressed, so mortar and mgs are nice, just move em upp alongside the tiger works like a charm, and u have a Ht to cover'em ^^

Turret rotation is irrelevant.
Its called reversing and moving the body simultaneously. slow turret rotation negated.

Not really, its true u can back upp and move, but its so slow you can ciclre strafe it once u get close enugh and with m10s health boon, they are a very VERY unhealthy thing for a Tiger

Tiger Kampfgruppe
Halftrack 3 pop
2x Grenadiers with Shrecks, nades/assault and Medkit 10 pop
Tiger I 16 pop
Schwimwagen 1 pop
The trick is. Schwimwagen spots the area of the estimated assault area. Spots for the location of ATGs and maybe dodges one shot or dies right there. Second trick is that Tiger drives up and starts taking bounding. Usually Enemy start up consists at least 1 sticky / brensquad and that squad will charge blindly at your direction (srsly it always happens) Tiger starts to retreat backward to avoid button/sticky and the squad retreats back to own lines.
Now at this moment the US player goes trollface and spams 2x M10s "I'll get the tiger!" he screams in mic like a 13-year-old British redhair brit kid and charges blindly toward the Tiger. The other player sends his ATG and infantry squads to support. While your own team mate usually fails and starts with 25 minesweepers it is your duty as a commander of the tiger kampfgruppe to move the halftrack in a good position, dismount the men inside and watch the M10s charge the tiger that is supported by 2 shrecks. The infantry charges in blindly with sticky squad usually hidin behind bushes (brensquads charges blindly) and then tries to button. Some miracle way (tiger's fuck up driving) it gets buttoned. In this case your HT drives up, suppresses the squad with its pop gun and shrecks deal the god darn M10s the ATG has crawled up and they both start firing at the Tiger. Since Tiger armor is fail its in half health by now and has to retreat. The HT is either death or alive so it'll support the survivors from the shreck squad that nade/assault the atg destroying it- if there's hmg or bar nearby it is recomendable to use assault on this. Mean while your team mate is trying to cap with his 25 minesweepper callin and trying to cap atgs and then QQing because he can't so you can ignore him now.
Usually after those 2x M10s another pair will pop up from the spawn and charge at your half health Tiger.
This time they'll face a Pak, 1 or 2 shrecks and a half health Tiger.
I guess that sums up the story of how EIRR games usually goes with a tiger kampfgruppe because usually- the game goes like that. UNLESS the player is something like Groundfire who spams "kill tiger kill tiger" on teamchat every 2 seconds and sends m10s from every possible corner of the map...
