Once... when you retreated your units, they did not go off map, they stayed on map...
Then we tested to have they units go off map when retreat, people went OMFG!!! NO!!!, there where also a movie about it

Once... U Attacked or defended... Now... Its almost Engagement, people went: OMFG!!!!!


Now... Can we try to make a game ROUND with out off maps, and see what people like about it?

Offmaps like recon run, is ok. But random shit falling down... is no go.
Can we try? Just too see how it is?
Now, people use off map to kill stationery howie or Flak88.

But if we make people to find new ways, maybe eir will be better? Maybe?

So you know what would happen to you if you faced a fatherland defence 5x Shrek gren blob? I think you can imagine. Tanks would just evaporate. Even at long range. The grenadier's best long range rifle in the game did the rest.

how about instead of activated offmaps. how about making an entire new system? kinda like how in men of war DCG instead of calling strafing runs you can call in a fighter you don't control and it randomly will select a couple of units for what it last 5-10 secs.. and then will leave....... but believe me its weak 5-10 seconds.. and you can shoot it down.

so my idea is a "seperate AI"  call it instead of offmaps call it something like "call for additional support" or something would really reinforce the entire "reinforcements" part of eirr.

for example I picked Infantry and they have offmap howitzers right? so here how it would work they would pick opt for this help it would cost PP ofcourse and what would happen is a seperate unit not belonging to anyone would set up near friendly lines and start shooting its howtizers in forward directions so sort of like the mission in brits the airstation mission where commandos raid and then you defend vs axis followed along by help from an a divisional artillary group offmap on the hill something similair. but you can eliminate offmaps because they would be on map?

off maps are important becasue of what I feel is an inbalance in the types of indirect fire options available to both sides.

if that was rectified then maybe offmaps might not be needed as much.

But thats just my point of view.

Arsonist - that requires very careful scripting - and is thusly impossible within a changing battlefield environment like EiRR.

offmaps aint even that bad anymore. there a good change and its good to have because the chance to get hit by an offmap makes people scared to blob. and those who do get punished by on-map or off-map either way.

and it adds a fun element to the game. stop trying to make the game bland and difficult. just leave offmaps way it is. anyone can use them properly.

If you cant control it, which means it has no stats (except for the planes), then it should not subject to that >/< chart you put up.

Actually no offmaps works fine if you supply each side with enough on maps.

try FOF sometime, no global abilitys, weapon abilities (SF, CF, etc), no global off maps... everything is tied to unit strength and on map units.  It works REALLY well, any time you get artilleried (the spotters are a bit crazy, you need to take them out fast) you know you have a chance to remove the source...

yes i 2nd that. fact that we have star wars offmaps is rather fictional. i dont remember in ww2 seeing allied commanders stare into a german axis commander in the eyes for 3 seconds and then a flying red Smoke comes down and mortar round after and him bein like WTF? =0000000 THEYRE FALLING STRAIGHT DOWN NOT AN ANGLE =000000 where they come from klaus? AIrplane mortar crews XD!?

demon don't be afraid of change..... your'e one of those tight conservative in the us who are scared to start a eco-friendly based world aren't you? haha.

Its okay if we get rid off offmaps for the sake of an expirement. infact most human strides can come from taking a chance if we really hate it then lets just stick to the old drawing board.

Yea, no offmaps would work if everyone had equivalent on maps I suppose.

I still want my LeIG 18 for Blitz, it fits so well. Then give the 10.5cm and the 15cm to Defensive =)
