Flak 88mm is:
Damage:     225—225
Cost:  MP: 450 FU200
You can recrew it, and fire Some (2/3) Howie shots at 100range. (howie is around 200 range)

Panzer IV is MP: 400: FU: 250.
American Howie: MP:380 FU: 140 (this should not be moved, the price is ok)

I have played games with flak 88, and its:

1. Like a sniper, against tanks, and sniper against inf.
2. It acts like a HMG, Allways dies.
3. Its a target for howie, offmap, officers (smoke and barrage), fire ups, and its almost quite near the front.

I must say i am one of the best defensive players, and oldest, been here MANY years, and i must say, aunit with that high cost... Its not worh it.

Note: Brits can move their buildings, while flak88 cant.
one other problem, if u build the flak88 on one side of the map, the enemies may avoid it, and take the other side.

Also. Playing as defensive is really hard.
with this said, do something GOOD to the flak 88,
like: Boost range, half the building time, make it moveable. Nerf the dmg and boost the range.


Also, have u EVER seen a vet 3 Flak88? No, because it like a HMG, you buy them, so they can die

wow, ur threads never cease to amaze me.

fyi. back in my luft days my 88s were at 800XP and my 36 was at 200XP

and just cuz ur the oldest player doesnt make your opinion right.

There are 6 vet 3 flaks on the leader board and one is even mine. I didn't really do anything to get it there. It always feels expensive on my fuel when i buy it, but i think it's perfectly balanced (without looking so much into it) and everything feels expensive when it's yours Tongue

it is a t2 weapon, and I personally hate facing the thing. The crew might die or retreat but the gun itself is pretty tough against artillery shell or other damage. As long as the 88mm itself survive you can still recrew it and be a threat.



A repair kit for the 88mm might be a good unlock or specialty.

I can see why your questioning the amount of resources it costs. it can be artyed to hell without it doing nothing. but you have to realise that its hard to balance a unit that is destructive (and now it can turn into an artillery piece) but also a easy target for arty and for it to turn into a waste of resources.

Frankly look at it this way. properly used it can annihilate more tanks than any p4 in its lifetime. just due to the thank of its range + damage. also recrewable, giving you a second chance.

Also the fear factor is immense. when it built sure its a target for everything, but thats because we all know how destructive those babies can be. so when 3 humans try to fight against one piece of equipment, you tend to thiink that sure, they might find a way around it.

i see it this way, you cant touch its Fuel due to its AT kill/ratio potential and you cant touch the MP due to its recrewability and AI potential

The Flak88 is an integral part of many volksgrenadier granatten kompanies, and it has served it's role perfectly!

It's probably one of the most balanced units in the game.

nahh shouldnt be done. my reasons

every 88 would be vet 3 without trying
any artillery hitting will take out the 4th man anyways
it will take a massive 4 MAN to recrew!. thats a full pzgren squad, full gren squad. more than half of your volks!
giving it the 4th man will make it survive infantry attacks for abit longer. so your also buffing the survivability of the gun itself in the retrospect.

sandbags protect 88 from any arty.
about recrew - do u really care about how many folks u have after recrewing 88? i mean 2 folks vs 1 folk.
about survivability - right point.

yes sandbags protect but 80% time you dont have time to do that. its a unrealistic variable.
Well personally i would care. That 1 man can buff my infantry attack to +1 man rather than sitting idle just because someone wants to keep vet "easier". 1 man squads are still an essential in game play and the only reason you gave to put it as 4 mans was to keep vet.. yea its not a good reason.

You're most certainly NOT one of the best defensive players (rofl btw), but I agree flak88 is a beat weak.

The difference between 1 volk and 2 volks is whether you can recrew that MG/Mortar/pak or not.
