ok, i got it, i like it, take alot of beating and keeps ticking, nothing like seeing pak 38 and 75mm iv shells bounce frontally.

anyways.. what armor does it have again? and how much HP?

also, it came factory but alot of them where modded with the 76mm, is there going to be a option in game to pay mun to add a 76mm on this bad boy?

and the vet on this thing is nuts, 3 games and mine is vet2 already.  at vet 2, if iam ready right it is receiving 35per less damage?   lol.. nuts.

It's a good tank, it should NOT get the 76mm as that is its tradeoff, most Jumbos were not modded with 76mm.

It has Pershing armor and about 50hp less than a Pershing (at around 850ish compared to Pershing's 900).  It's designed as a support/assault tank to help infantry or armor columns break roadblocks. ^^

It may get a heavy crush at some point, not sure yet. It's definitely on the table though, Wrecks mess up their pathing quite heavily

yes it has a 50.cal

What is the realistic penetration of a 50.cal. could it penetrate a tank from the side or rear if close enough?

Depends on the tank, it could reliably penetrate armored cars and halftracks though, as well as the side and rear of some light tanks (Pz II, 38t, etc. as well as Marders and other lightly armored SPGs).

Then again, many of the weapons in CoH are downplayed to make the game bearable...

Not really, p4 rear armor wasn't terribly weak, secondly, the top mounted weapons were shall we say, not manned during tank battles.

Something about rounds hitting and killing people on the outside of tanks. Those are AA mounts and meant to be used to drive off enemy planes while on convoy. In a tank vs tank battle opening and having your commander sitting up top is not the best idea...

VS an armored car its doable, but an even worse idea as you'll have a lot more incoming rounds from a fast firing 20mm and 7.92mm from that AC than you would from an enemy tank....

the only MG I'd man on a tank in combat is the Hetzer MG. Sit inside hull and try and gun shit

In a tank vs tank battle opening and having your commander sitting up top is not the best idea...

Modern Armor battles this is true, but during ww2 armor battles it was actually better to have your commander up top, atleast for the opening few minutes of the battle, as a un buttoned commander can see quite far and wide. Not having your commander uptop makes you very vulnerable to ambushing TD's, Tanks, ATG's and infantry.

The only risk to a commander is infantry marksmen on the sides of a battle and shrapnel. being unbuttoned also gives you a higher chance of making it out of your tank in the case of fire.

on alot of ww2 tanks (even some right up to the end of the cold war), if you were buttoned an enemy infantry could pretty much walk right up to you and shove a satchel, or shaped charged attack at point blank gauranteeing the destruction of the tank. (it was also why you had infantry often supporting an armor coloumn by walking the perimeter to ferret out tank hunters)

Always is a bold statement, theres a ton of examples where the lack of coordination between infantry and tanks caused massive amounts of problems
