I'd say anything above 2 88s on the field is spam, tbh..

But at the same time - they're also one unit that definitely has diminishing returns.

Getting a good position to setup 5 88's is hard enough, because too far back and you can just cap and bleed them(it takes a long time but it wins) Too far forward and your aggression shoudl kill them in construction.

I haven't looked at the replay but I'll assume your team wasn't proactive about scouting or poking around

Yeah, 5 88's is crazy, now maybe 2 88's with 4 flakverlings might be doable.

But unless all the have is tanks its a worthless setup tbh

OK, so I have just watched my own replay.

I must make a correction. There were 5 - 88's but not until the game was all but over anyway.

The axis team claims they were not planning to spam 88's, and we will just have to believe them. Unless someone knows how to get the chat log......

I can't remember the ability, but the defensive players were able to delay our deployment. They used this to rush the front lines and set up 2 88"s

Unfortunately, one of our team continued to try and work the side with the 88 instead of flanking the other side. It didn't take long for the axis to set up a 3rd 88 defending the others. Then there were 4 and then the inevitable 5th.

I am the first to say our team did not play well. No need to point that out, it is obvious. My question is, does it not seem broken when a weapon as powerful as an 88, can be used 3 or 4 at a time?

I had an argument with one of the axis players. Correction, I pointed out that the 3 axis players setting up a new game, would be waiting for a long time for another game. The one axis player seemed very shocked that I felt this way. Then the argument started.

Am I really so out to lunch that I think this is a really shitty game to play?

53Grenadierregiment - builds 88 at start - gets destroyed within first 5 minutes of the game. Nothing to worry about.

TOPFRAGGER - builds 88 at start of the game - gets his first kill (rifleman soldier) at around 12 minutes into the game. Is pretty useless untill then and it remains that for the rest of the game.

CptBadass - builds 88 - around 20 minutes, kills a 50% hp Pershing rushing in and 1 ATG

CptBadass - builds another 88 - 25 minutes, in front of his 1st. (his team has about 75% of the map)

TOPFragger - 26 minutes builds his 2nd 88 on enemy part of map, seems he has not been attacked at all entire game , lol. This 88 aswell as his first one seem kinda useless.

Also at 26 minutes they 3v1 rush the captbadass 88 (up front) with smoke, 88 gets 1 inf kill or so and is retreated.

When they attack this 88, the defense is supported by a lot of units which rape the allied attackers, the 88 in the back also helps but kills hardly anything, it is the units around that kill most of the allieds units.

After this the ticker goes down due to sector outcap.
When there are no more enemy units on the field at the end, 53gren puts up his 2nd 88, which was also for obvious reasons not usefull.
88s isnt why you lossed the game. They hardly did anything and proper attacks or arty would have made them even more useless, for example if you guys had some better coordination and attacked the guy on the left, he was all alone for most part and prolly couldnt have handled a 3v1 rush with smoke and everything. But you kept attacking the right, no wonder he puts up 2 88s at the end of the game.

looked kinda like a doomfort at the end...

did any of ur guys have stickies on their rifleman cause that was ur best bet rifle spam with the ab RR's and maybe a mortor to pick em off but yeah u guys should have tried to do a run around on the left side of the map the 88's didn't quite range to there.

i watched the game from axis perspective but i cannot say i am correct it is alot harder to make these conclusion while in the middle of the game.
