You need to install the program into the correct directory.
For steam, thats in the program files somewhere. Make sure the 'Autoupdater.exe' file ends up being installed to the same dir as 'RelicCOH.exe'

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.
That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

This may or may not apply... but back in the day, I had my hard drive partitioned, and if CoH wasn't installed on the same partition as the windows install, EiR wouldn't work, even if it was installed properly in all the right folders.
Also, on Vista, if CoH wasn't installed in "Programs(x86) or whatever, EiR wouldn't work at all for me.
Maybe one of these is the problem?
Maybe I'm wasting space?
Mysteries...

Usually when you try to install EIRR into the steam folders it creats a CoH folder within the CoH folder, which will not work.
You gotta physically move the updater into that first CoH folder for it to work.
I think its:
Steam\commonapps\companyofheroes or something like that.

Like I said in the prior post, I put it in the main folder and still doesn't work. Comes up as Updater in wrong location, tried every folder there is still same thing. Also tried to run as Admin, still the same thing. I am not running Steam could that be the problem?

The autoupdater.exe needs to be in the SAME directory as the RelicCOH.exe
Hope that helps.

Could you provide us with a screenshot of where it's located?
