NAT and connection issues

I've forwarded ports, like this:



Router is set up to provide static address to the PC.

This application definition is set to the static IP of the PC connecting to the router.

I still have some issues connecting to some people.

Thompson is PIECE OF SHIT!!! forwarding doesnt work on them,atleast it didnt on mine model,and all other people who had that model...

It's the standard router crap the internet providers use.

Sure there isn't anything I can do?

Name a good one then, so I can do some shopping.

I just disabled the firewall. That means no nat or forwarding.

See if you can set up what is called a DMZ to your specific IP address instead.

Also make sure any software firewalls are disabled.

Yea, what ampm said, check if you absolutely certainly don't have any software firewalls, or the windows firewall, blocking things on your computer. McAfee comes to mind as one of the usual culprits.

DMZ could work too, but it never did on my router.

In the games I can't connect I ask if the host has router or NAT.
The answer usualy is they don't even know if ports are open.

Seems the problem is not mine alone now. If people want to play, and have router, everyone has to take care of NAT'ing properly.
