This hapens when the launcher is open for more than a couple hours. The unit selection is glitchy.

Selecting a unit with the mouse and dragging it can pull another unit next to it.

The "Retire Unit" button does not work with the current unit selected in your battalion. You have to drag and drop the unit in it.

Last time I rebuilt company, I left-button clicked a unit, dragged over "Retire Unit" and released button. A vet unit in the square next to it was retired instead and I got the message "updating company..."

Has any one got any fun moments like this?

The "Retire Unit" button should be made clickable and affect the selected unit.

Then someone will accidentally click it, forgetting that they have a vet unit selected.

A glitch makes mouse selection not work as intended. Whether it is clicking or dragging.

I understood your teenager remark though.

yea, i am always accidentally deleting my vet units but that's why i put the units i want to delete to the storage area(holding zone) so i then keep the units i want to keep and delete the onees i want to remove.

but if you notice that you have accidentaly deleted the units you wanted to keep you can allways just go back to the company selection tab and then enter the comp you were using, this dose only though work if you have not accepted the company changes.

wish you all the best though.

The unit could be any unit. Vet units die like the rest, not a problem.

Problem lies when application is open for too long. Click on a square unit, drag it, it selects another one.

Making "Retire Unit" clickable, to affect selected unit, makes it less error prone.

Still not a fix the drag problem. Could happen if you are arranging units. However, Retirement is more dangerous because you loose it.

I guess the easy fix for now would be to close your launcher and restart every once in a while. It takes about 7 seconds to reload.

I know it does not correct the problem, but it sure solves the issue.

Maybe moderator could move the post above to EIR launcher suggestion / bug thread.

Only found it now.

I actually find that I have this problem even when I just log into the launcher, it doesn't seem to matter how much time I spend in it.

This problem is to do with how Ive implemented 'dragging' - I can lower the delay amount from 50ms if all you twitchy ex-starcraft players are clicking too fast ;p

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
