EiRRmod should be checking the forums in a few hours. He might have a solution. I'll see what I can find in the Tech forum but no promises.

ok thanks!
You need to run the updater as an admin.

If you downloaded a partial file earlier - you will need to delete it.

Otherwise, things that will effect this are:
- Firewalls (local OR a university connection for example)
- An HTTP proxy
- Nortons or other 'protection' disallowing the files to be downloaded

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

Ok so I think I might know what is causing the problem,  just dont know how to fix it.

I only just realised my Internet explorer wasnt working, neither is my steam ( I cant connect to the steam store). However my firefox is still working fine. I think my connection issues might have something to do with my proxy settings, ( many instances of other peoples steam not working have ended up being due to this) but after looking up some guides about how to fix these on the internet im still a little stuck.  ( I dont know what proxies are :s)

is there a method I can use to reset all my proxy settings to a default or automaticly detected mode to see if this will fix my odd connection issues.
